    Downtown

The city has a unique skyline, clashing between modern sky rises and small victorian storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however.

Elain was glad that she'd run into Vhalla that day when she had been searching for the local market she'd heard so much about - more or less having both figuratively and literally ran into her. Something in the honey-blonde woman told her that, had it not been for her lackluster knack of navigation in a city she didn't really know too well just yet, the two women very would could have walked right on by one another and not even noticed how much they would have been missing out on. The young woman's father had always told her and Lazarus that everything in this world happened for a reason, that there ultimately was a grander plan at work, and she strongly believed those words to be true. Sure, life has its moments where everything seemed dark and hopeless, like there was no finding that open window where the light could come pouring in and suddenly everything would be as it had been before. If anything, Elain knew all too well that most of what happened in one's life was not something that could be undone. People would come in and out of that metaphoricla door called life, and some would even leave wounds both shallow and deep that would eventually turn into scars on the heart, mind, and soul. That was just life though, and even the most stormy of seas had days of peace and calmer waters. It was just a matter of staying strong through against the raging tides unto one made it out on the other side and finally found that shore of warm, sun-bleached sand.

Glacier blue eyes can't help but admire the white-haired woman in all her beauty, finding it so very hard to believe that there wasn't a man in her life that wanted nothing more than to treat her as she surely deserved. Ellie wasn't necessarily born with some sixth sense or anything, but something in how the older woman carried herself told the honey-blonde woman that Vhalla didn't need someone to be her other half. She didn't need a man to be happy. She was strong and independent with a fire that Ellie only ever had in her own eyes of icy blue when the moment called for it, like when her big brother decided he was going to try and tell her how she should live her life. While Elain was certainly not lacking in confidence, the amount for it in the younger woman certainly paled in comparison to her best friend and that sense of pride she held effortlessly around her. It was not arrogant, nor was it modest, but it was perfect for Vhalla. The woman shoots a look over to Ellie as her remark of warmer clothes and it nearly has the honey-blonde woman giggling, but she is able to refrain. When the older woman smiles and returns the compliment, Ellie can't help but smile brightly in turn."Awww, thank you Vee! I know, he's such a party pooper though he does mean well. But tonight, I'm rebelling", she says happily, the last string of words bringing a playful smile upon those lips as a chiming note of laughter falls over them, glacier blue eyes glittering excitedly for what the night would hold. She'd never done anything like this before, and she knew that if Lazarus found out, he probably would be beyond livid with her, but she was ready to take that chance. As sweet and eager to please as the young woman was ninety-nine percent of the time, that didn't mean that she wouldn't find a daring streak willing to test her big brother's already frayed patience. How was she going to experience the world if he kept her locked away like delicate desert blossom?

Vhalla gives Elain and amused expression as she tells the young woman to never doubt her and the honey-blonde woman giggles lightly in reply before giving a light not, though at Elain's request to be home before midnight, the white-haired woman looked every bit dissatisfied with bringing the younger woman home with the home that Lazarus wouldn't be here, but she eventually agreed only to assure Ellie that it was because she didn't want to her to have to deal with a more than likely worried - and therefore pissed off - big brother. There is a shrug that follows, and for a fleeting moment Elain was almost certain she'd seen a grimace of some sort, though what for she couldn't quite guess. She knew entirely too well that the two didn't seem to care much for the other, but there was something else..."You don't have to do that, I've dealt with him my entire life but I'd just rather not have to", she replies nonchalantly as she gives a shrug of her own, amusement flickering through those eyes of early morning frost. Locking arms, the two woman depart on their adventure, the younger woman finding the fussing from her best friend all that much more endearing as she giggled in response to the clear dislike Vhalla had for the cold, Elain rather pleased that she'd decided to dress warmer than she'd originally planned. She smiles sweetly to Vhal when she continued to insist that she wasn't made for this weather and Elain simply flashes an amused smile as she presses against her while they walk arm in arm through the streets before suddenly coming upon the bar Vhal had been searching for.

Before she knew it, they were waltzing right into the bar, music blaring and giving the young woman and urge to dance her heart away though she happily trails after Vhalla towards the bar. The white-haired woman looks over to Elain and gives her a sly grin as her voice reaches just over the music and laughter falls easily from the honey-blonde woman."You're probably right on that one", Elain answers over the bass as they settle into those high bar chairs, Vhalla wasting no time in ordered two drinks. In all honesty, she was glad that the older woman had ordered for her. She couldn't really see a menu anywhere, and for some silly reason that made Elain a little nervous to try and act like she knew what she liked when she hardly knew a thing about alcohol except what it could do from having watched Lazarus drink himself into a drunken haze. The older woman is laughing at Elain's likely naïve remark as she explains that there were some classier bars out there and this instantly intrigues her."Well then we should make this a habit, I think! Try and find all the classy places and such, it'd be fun!", she says excitedly as their drinks arrive and Elain reaches for hers. She takes thay first drink, thoroughly enjoying the sweetness of the flavors though she was surprised by the smooth burning of the alcohol part. It was something she would need to adjust to, but it dissipates quickly enough that she hardly bothered to linger on such thoughts.

When she finally decided to ask about the man that seemed to continuously find his way into their conversations somehow, surprise dances in her eyes as Vhalla nearly chokes on her drink. Well, that's unusual. Why was she so surprised by the question? Her curiosity only grows as she eyes the woman almost suspiciously as the woman turns to set her glass on the bar before giving Elain a surprised look in return. Hmmm... Is she... blushing? Yes, the honey-blonde woman was almost entirely sure she could see the tinge of pink just barely through the dark room with flashing lights and her intrigue only deepens. She watches Vhalla suddenly down the rest of her drink before waving at the bartender for another, Ellie taking another sip of her strawberry daiquiri though she refuses to look away from her friend when finally she speaks up. How curious. There was a change in Vhalla's voice that was lacking in that familiar disdain and the mystery only becomes more alluring to the younger woman who gives a shrug, glacier blue eyes gleaming as she giggled."Gee, Vee. It almost looks like you're blushing. So, if you ran into my brother and didn't kick his ass, what happened? You act like something happened. Did you guys end up making out?", she says cheekily as she gives the white-haired woman a teasing smile as she finds herself still sipping on thay drink, a warmth filling her stomach and her cheeks. It was... nice. And now, she really wanted to dance. She remains in her seat though, that cat-like curiosity getting the best of her in that moment as she continues to watch her friend for whatever reaction might come next, totally expecting Vhalla to brush it off and maybe drag her into the crowd of moving bodies to forget her pesky brother that really shouldn't be coming up on their girl's night out. Unless... Pfft, nah! There's no way they like each other. Not with how they act like they're on the brink of brawling.
