    The East

The east side of the city is often considered the heart of Sacrosanct. It's here were the majority of the shopping district can be found, deep in the heart of downtown. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often times, new comers to the city may be come overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever present feeling that's hardly noticed. The streets of the east side are frequented by all species as many companies are housed in the sky scrapers and hole in the wall establishments that line the streets.

    Downtown

The city has a unique skyline, clashing between modern sky rises and small victorian storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however.

Malakai Kanaita

"Mhmm," he mumbles, offering only this growled sentiment as acknowledgment of her apology before ushering the petite young woman onwards. It was, perhaps, the very least of what he had been called; a veritable pebble tossed half-heartedly into the canyon of his existence. And so does he coax her onwards, laboring beneath the sincerest hope that wherever it was she had been making her way to would require him to sacrifice little more of his afternoon than he already had. That was until the first bursts of lightning and their thunderous companions split the heavens with their pageant of crackling light. A sigh, hardly abated by the brooding man, huffs through his lips in the moments before his eyes traverse the short line to that of his unintended companion. He offers a long moment of silent consideration to her request, having already settled himself upon the idea of indulging in an alcoholic libation alone after he was rid of her. However, to take leave of her presence now would have surely constituted a mark against whatever gentlemanly facade he was trying to uphold for the moment at hand.

"Sure," he concedes, following obediently in the younger woman's stead and into the warm wash of the bar. Absentmindedly does his hand smooth out his mane of unruly locks, already glistening from the spritz, the white fabric stretched over his broad shoulders darkened by the fledgling shower. Tattooed fingers reach out to grasp at his offered jacket, brushing ever so briefly against the slender, chilled digits of his counterpart before he positions himself upon the stool at her side. With a simple wave of his hand, Malakai summons the barkeep over. If he was going to have to sit here until the storm abated he was damn well going to have his drink. "Jameson," he issues curtly before turning towards the woman at his side, "and whatever the lady would like." A single, thick brow arches in the direction of the oriental dame, an unspoken insistance that she pick her poison.

"Malakai will do just fine," he counters, nearly cringing at the formality. He turns to her then, fixiing her with a calculating stare that he does little to soften. "So, Miya, do you make a habit of napping during all of your lectures or was mine just that god-awful?"
