    The East

The east side of the city is often considered the heart of Sacrosanct. It's here were the majority of the shopping district can be found, deep in the heart of downtown. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often times, new comers to the city may be come overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever present feeling that's hardly noticed. The streets of the east side are frequented by all species as many companies are housed in the sky scrapers and hole in the wall establishments that line the streets.

    Downtown

The city has a unique skyline, clashing between modern sky rises and small victorian storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however.

you could do anything,
if only you dared

The news of a new bakery in town had managed to garner the attention of Vhalla, the woman hardly ever going out of her way to go somewhere she might enjoy. Really, it was out of the norm for the assassin, the woman only frequenting those run down bars. Which, probably was a good thing, considering there was always a chance she would burn down those nicer establishments. She makes her way down that street, the day sunny for once though it was fiercely cold. Her hands find their way into the pockets of her leather jacket, that bright red scarf the only color the assassin so adorned, the rest of her clothing entirely made up of black. Her white hair is stark against that shade, as it falls loosely over her shoulder down to her waist, blue eyes actively searching for the sign for that new bakery.

She almost passes it merely because the name was so… unimaginative. Curling her lip into an amused grin, she stands outside of The Bakery for a moment almost enjoying how plain and simple it is, those windows revealing several customers enjoying their baked goods at the table. Pulling her hand out of her pocket, she pushes her way in as the ringing of the bell announces her presence. Tucking her stark white hair behind her ear, those icy eyes scan the establishment. It was warm, cozy even and the smell, by the gods it was delightful. Relishing in that scent of freshly baked goodies, Vhalla pauses for a moment in the doorway, her eyes immediately finding that display case, only to travel to the top of that case to reveal cake. Exactly what she had come here for.

Unbidden, her mouth begins to salivate. It had been months since she had enjoyed anything like this, her tastes only having been of alcohol. Waiting in line, she continues her inspection, the place loud with chatter despite the few customers that so littered the area. Vhalla is almost impatient as the man in front of her takes his time ordering, asking the man at the register to list out just about every ingredient in each baked good. Scowling, Vhalla folds her arm over her chest as she shoots daggers into the man’s back. God, the woman just wanted a piece of cake. She’s debating on cutting in front of him, only for the man to finally settle on something and reaching into his pocket. Eyes wide, he realizes then that he had forgotten his wallet in the car, asking the man at the register if he would hold his spot in line and that he would be right back, Vhalla brings a hand up to rub her face.

Moving out of the way to let the man by, she throws the guy working a long look before she sighs. “I just want some cake,” she says to him but she doesn’t make a move to approach the counter, the woman at least having some decency to let the customer return. Again, the assassin steps out of the way as she pops her hip out in an impatient fashion, the man finally finding some sort of urgency as he pays and collects his goods only to be on his way. When he’s finally gone, Vhalla unfolds her arms as she moves towards that counter, her eyes almost instantly losing that impatience as she begins to scan that display case only to feel a sinking feeling in her gut. The man had bought the entire cake on display. The woman is almost ready to turn around and demand the man give her a piece of that damn cake and yet, she contains herself and instead releases a long drawn out side, her eyes wandering to that empty platter now. “You wouldn’t happen to have another cake would you?” She says, disappointment rolling off her tongue as she glowers.
