    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

It's not the long walk home that will change this heart, but the welcome I receive after the restart.

In a very uncharacteristic display of apathy, the lean vampire finds himself reaching at his bow tie, and undoing the snap holding it together without a second thought. He tucks the tie delicately into an interior jacket pocket, and proceeds to unbutton the top of his well-pressed dress shirt, then slouch further into his bar stool. Dareios wasn't quite drunk per say, but this newfound relaxation was wholeheartedly fueled by wine. And he was happy to oblige -- it was better to feel at ease and a little tipsy, than on edge and hungry with a pretty human girl sitting right next to him. Nevertheless, he couldn't quite tune out out her heartbeat. With every passing second he could hear it, feel it, see it even, in the subtle twitch of an artery in her neck. It was more alluring than a naked woman calling him to bed. But still, he did his best to ignore it.

It didn't take long for the wine to have a more "relaxing" effect on Miya, too. The vampire couldn't hide the playful smirk across his lips as she rambled on in such an innocent way, saying things in a way that made it difficult to forget the purr of the blood coursing through her veins, but he persisted. He literally laughs out loud for a second upon hearing her outlandish comment about the smell of the wine. He decides to smell it himself, noting no tones of yeast, but nods in agreement nonetheless. "You are a curious girl, Miya." He says nonchalantly. "I'm fairly certain conversations about government work would put you right to sleep."

Feeling a bit bold, the vampire places a cold hand over her forearm when she mentions she's having a decent time. The touch is simply meant to be a gesture of admiration, of confirming that he feels the same way. But he's a bit buzzed, and being a vampire, his cold touch can be a bit off putting to those who aren't expecting it. But again, Dareios isn't thinking clearly. "I understand. It can be hard to make friends in a new city. But you're so pleasant and pretty, I'm sure you'll find them in no time."

Moments later, he watches Miya's hand extend his way and a finger dab him gently against the chest. He laughs a little at her embarrassed reaction and once again, cups a hand over her arm. "Are you hungry? Maybe we can still find a place to grab a bite this late." He offers, shifting his weight in his seat to grab his phone from his trousers pocket. The screen illuminates his already pale features and he quickly passes by the many missed calls, text message and email notifications. The vampire bites his lip as his search brings up futile results. "It looks like everything on this side of town has already closed." But then he has an idea.

Dareios pours what's left of the second bottle of wine evenly into both of their glasses, and waves a free hand to signal the bartender once again. This time, he slaps a platinum credit card on the bartop. "Have you ever been to Anacosta Heights?" He asks curiously. The affluent neighborhood was all the way on the other side of town. "I've love to cook for you." He suggests. But upon blurting out this idea, he understand that it may have come off a bit, well, creepy. "I very much like to cook. As a hobby. It brings me great joy to cook for my friends. And it's not like I'm going to sleep anytime soon, so if you're interested..." As if a nice home cooked meal from a friendly vampire in the early hours of the morning wasn't enticing enough, he decides to add last minute. "I've got plenty wine at home, too."
