“Yes, everything is taken care of,” Ludo pressed the end call button on his phone. God, I’m exhausted he sighed, contemplating of just going home and sleeping the rest of the night away, or treating himself to a fine scotch upon his most recent mission finally being wrapped up. It was a long venture, having to scout out some shady super naturals lurking amongst Noah’s Ark district. They definitely put up a good fight too, but nothing Ludo couldn’t handle. There was way more work here than he initially anticipated. He was glad his paycheck was well above what he was used to as means to live on, but there was something internally plaguing the city that hid beneath it’s core that he wanted to figure out. He knew Miya who was a human had experienced odd encounters, especially when she expressed that she was attacked by a vampire. Ludo was relieved she survived, and was still able to proudly call herself human. Yet, the regular person should not have such information to the supernatural world. Part of his job was to, eradicate those corrupted individuals who decidedly tried to expose themselves or others to human beings.

He found himself sauntering about the rainy city streets, appreciating the reflection of the stoplights bouncing back up at him. Childishly splashing through the puddles, he saw that he was close to the VooDoo Room. “Hmmm,” he eyed the invitingly lavish entryway and placed his hand upon the door handle only to see a platinum blonde woman waltz up to the establishment. Mere reflexes, he opened the door and politely stated, “After you.” Without much hesitation it seemed, she passed right by him, escaping into the crowded cesspool of people. He was surprised, most women were automatically charmed by such demeanor, but everybody had their tastes, he supposed. Looking around seeing that there was no other person he needed to hold the door for, he strode into the establishment.

The first thing that caught his eye was the ritzy chandelier that hung elegantly in the middle of the bar. It definitely felt like the Rococo style buildings he knew back home in Italy. He always appreciated the Art Nouveau stylized places that held whimsical but aristocratic elements about them. However, his gaze was met next to the limited seating the room held. I suppose I’ll worry about the drink I’m having first he convinced himself, walking up to the bartenders counter, analyzing all of the varieties of alcohol that were sprawled about the back counter. Waving his hand to beckon the bartender closer, he leaned in and expressed his desire to have the Oban scotch whiskey. Admittedly, he was more intrigued by how crystal clear the whiskey seemed, rather than his knowledge about the type.

He clasped his right hand around the small glass and brought the drink up close to his nostrils and sniffed. It exuded an aroma that was sweet and spicy. Taking a small sip and picking apart the drink he found that it coated his tongue like more of a malt, and there was a lovely smokiness that lingered in the aftertaste. Before he knew it, there was other people behind him in line, waiting to come up and order their drinks. Shifting to the side, he peered around to see if there was an open seat anywhere. There he saw the same blonde haired woman, taking up a booth by herself and absorbed in her own world. I suppose it couldn’t hurt to ask if I could just take a seat.. He made his way over until he was standing above her, clearing his throat. “Scusi, mind if I sit here?”
