    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

There was a certain tension to Killian after he shook Christian's hand, like being a warlock might not be such a good thing in his eyes. Maybe he wasn't the only one with a bad past then. Of course, Christian knew he wasn't the only warlock who lost someone through magic but he had spent a lot of time feeling sorry for himself after what happened with Keith. He joined The New Eden not long after deciding it was time to move on. It was his way to cling to something other than his own dark history and immerse himself in a new way of life. The New Eden was more like a cult than a coven anyway. They were very strict in secrecy, even among other witches and warlocks. They didn't want anyone besides their own members to know about them and what they were doing. You didn't leave the coven most of the time except through death. Christian knew that going in but he didn't care whether he lived or died at the time that he signed up on the dotted line. In his own blood, too.

Him and Keith had been part of another coven before everything happened. After losing Keith, he had given up everything, including the coven. At first he'd thought about just staying on his own but he needed a distraction. He saw Keith every time he closed his eyes or saw something that reminded him of him. The New Eden was a way to stop thinking about him. As soon as he heard whispers of a recruit in the area, he went on the hunt, ready to be focused on anything but his own recurring nightmares. Killian was proving to be a nice distraction though. He was nice on the eyes and seemed to have a good personality about him. That probably proved trouble for Christian later but he could be a nice distraction for today at least, maybe even a night if it came to that. With his easy going attitude, Christian could pretend that he was normal for a day and then leave with no strings attached after. He just had to stay unattached and closed off.

Killian was thoughtful for a minute before saying he was off in thought. Christian offered his own smirk and nodded in understanding before Killian told him that he came straight from Ireland. The minute he asked the sun question, he knew that he'd struck gold. Killian had nothing to do with The New Eden. Good. Killian looked confused before saying the sun must have been out when he was working at the bistro. Christian nodded, his shoulders visibly relaxing. "Ah, so you work in a bistro? You must meet a lot of people then. Do you cook or serve drinks? I bet being Irish really helps behind the bar." He smirked, his eyes twinkling playfully. He wasn't trying to offend Killian. It was just a known fact that the Irish love their liquor. He was trying to make light conversation, wondering if they had anything in common, anything that could lead them from the sidewalk outside to someone more cozy.
