    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

The witch seems content to merely stare at the necklace around the snake's neck and while I don't understand all this magic mojo, I'm pretty sure the neck won't save her neck or maybe it would have kept her out of the road or healed her by now. The hunter steps up to feel for a pulse at her neck and my lips twitches a little in humor. I could have told him she's still alive. i can feel the pressure of blood running through her veins, feel her heart beat through her spine as I hold her slender body in my arms. I can smell her soul. But who wants to ask a vampire right?

The witch actually seems offended by the hunter though, telling him she knows what she's doing and that the necklace is important to the shifter. I scowl a little. What does that have to do with saving her life? I'm pretty sure she can live without a necklace if, well, she doesn't live. The witch then slaps away the hunter's hands before turning away and to the gloves that fell to the sidewalk. She rummages through her bag and pulls out a glowing vial. My jaw stiffens, eyes flashing with distrust of the vial, my arms tightening a little around the snake as I fight the urge to step away or at least drop the snake and put soem distance between me and that vial. She coos to the snake, telling her that she should take the vial for the next time she shifts. I scowl again. What does that have to do with the situation at hand? Aren't we getting a bit off topic?

She then notices the way Isolt is clinging to the gloves, blinking a few times in surprise before explaining how she bought them from a pawn shop but she doesn't get to finish her story, a window cracking before all hell breaks loose. Meanwhile the hunter is too busy being offended by the witch now, causing me to roll my eyes. Can no one else see the sexual tension here? He sends her words back at her, saying he knows what he's doing and the rock's not going to save her. The hunter's gaze turns to me when I tease him about stabbing the gloves and my eyes darken and narrow right back at him in challenge. Even with a shifter in my arms, I'm still rippling with anticipation.

"You're welcome to TRY."

I challenge him. Of course the furniture suddenly flying at everyone is a good enough distraction. I catch a glance of the hunter grabbing Raven and Serafina to pull them out of the way. I turn my head to see a lamp coming my way and in that moment, I call on my power, absorbing the energy from all around before I bring up a single hand while still holding the shifter with the other, aiming that power at the lamp so determined to hit me. I know I could dodge but that could risk hurting the shifter and while she's not much of my concern, she means something to Isolt and I know she would want me to keep her safe. And so instead I sent a burst of bright energy at the lamp, turning my head as the lamp explodes into harmless powder before hitting us. The powder sprinkles to the ground all around us as I turn to survery the damage.

Isolt steps closer and I feel myself breathe in relief to know she's okay even though I have no need for breath. My eyes drink her in, checking for any wounds but of course I see none. I brush my shoulder against hers, content just to feel her skin against mine and know that she's real. I look down then, scowling at the quivering gloves in her hands. Somehow I think they're to blame. I look up when Raven asks her why nothing attacked her and I turn a quizzical gaze to Isolt. She doesn't seem to know and my body stiffens a little, ready to defend her if anyone calls her a liar.
