    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

Inside the heart of every man. There is a lust you understand

Well, you can be vexing at times.

Spencer retorted in good humor at Dorian, tipping his head slightly in greeting toward him. Dorian seemed in a good mood today, though there was the usual edge scratching at the surface. Still, despite being prickly at times, the younger man wasn't nearly as difficult as part of Spencer had been expecting. He actually had pretty a pretty developed business sense, though some of it needed a little cleaning around the edges. Then again, they weren't exactly handling a cupcake bakery so perhaps it was best. It was successful either way, though Spencer intended on increasing that success because ambitions and money.

Hoped he liked amphibians? What the hell kind of question was that? What did it have anything to do with this meeting? Spencer's confusion flickered across his eyes briefly, the question catching him so off-guard that he couldn't hope to maintain an apathetic expression. While Spencer wasn't particularly fond of amphibians – it was the moist skin, really- he couldn't say that he necessarily disliked them. He just liked them better at a distance and not touching them. However, he was only confused for a moment, because a stranger's voice piped up to clear the confusion in a stomach-turning way for Spencer.

Instead of confusion, there a flicker of extreme displeasure flashing across his eyes, though Spencer's professionalism refused to allow it to broadcast across his otherwise composed demeanor. He would not mix personal feelings with business dealings. This was Sacrosanct, a place of unusually high Were-population, a fact that meant he would have to deal with them sooner than later. Maybe, some eternal (or temporary, he wasn't picky) being willing, he wouldn't have to work in close quarters to her.

Reptiles were slightly better than amphibians, though reptiles could easily be far more dangerous than amphibians. This part is what troubled him the most at the moment, that he had a Were that he knew was a reptile but WHICH ONE? Was she a snake? Lizard? Overgrown lizard? Dragon? Crocodile? Alligator? Horny toad? Was she something that could maim him and take away his one good leg? Goddammit Dorian, why are you testing him already?

In need of a stronger drink.

Spencer replied, voicing the thoughts in the back of his mind, as he waved the waitress back over to their table, motioning that he wanted another vodka and- after a half second of debate- one for the new companion. If he had known the present company, he would have already downed two of these. Once he was sure she would scuttle over (eventually), he turned his attention to Askaree the Reptile. At least now he didn't look like a complete asshole and (maybe) it could cover up a little bit of his discomfort. Also, he hoped she like vodka.

Spencer.

He finally introduced himself, taking her hand very briefly in the spirit of manners. It seemed Dorian had successfully found the very big crack in Spencer's armor. Even though Askaree had yet to do anything but introduce herself, just being aware she was a Were had rattled a part of him. While Spencer would not call it a phobia, he certainly wasn't... comfortable dealing with them, especially when surprised by one. She could probably eat him whole and not think twice of it. Hmph, he might strangle Dorian for this surprise. Spencer tipped the half full glass, emptying its contents as the new ones reached the table. Nudging the empty glass toward the waitress, he looked toward Dorian, curious if anyone else would show up to this meeting of rag-tags.
