    The North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high class victorian architecture. The streets are paved with stone, the buildings are made of brick, and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting. In the North every establishment is made to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - weather it be illegal or merely looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allow them the luxuries that the North provides.

It’s not the long walk home that will change this heart,
But the welcome I receive at the restart.

"I promise not to bite you." he says.

Dareios is concerned about Sorcha's on edge and flighty nature as she rushes to enter his home. He glides easily out of the way, one hand tugging at the end of his more casual sports coat before peering out the front door again and surveying the empty streets one last time. He sensed nothing out of place. The vampire did not know Sorcha well at all -- they'd only met just once, of course -- but the concern he felt stemmed from what he concluded was not normal behavior for the witch. Something had happened to her since he'd seen her last. Not once did he consider his own haunting actions the night they met could be the reason she was so uncomfortable here. He may have frightened her, but this was deeper than that, that much he could feel just radiating off her. So he studied her intently, watching her as she rubbed her hands together, as her stare darted quickly from one space to another, almost always avoiding his gaze.

"In fact, I'd like to apologize for my behavior the night we met. I wasn't exactly ... myself." He decides that is as far as his apology will extend. It's difficult for others to understand that primal need to hunt that can so easily overtake one of his kind. Nevertheless, an apology was in order. He was usually better about these kinds of things. The tall, thin vampire then shuts the front door. The thick lock switches into place with a loud snap. He invites her to follow him into his office, the first door to the left of the grand foyer. There he directs her to sit on a couch in a sitting area caddy-corner from his grand desk. The dark room was walled by floor-to-ceiling bookshelves. An ornate chandelier hung from the ceiling, though its bulbs barely illuminated the room. He liked it this dark. "A century maybe. Or two. Can I get you anything? A coffee?"

He offers, hesitating but planning to find a seat next to her. "I'm surprised you decided to come, if I'm being honest." He says, his hands finding brief refuge in the pockets of his slim-fitting pants. He was still studying her, watching her as she looked around his home and fiddled with his card in between her fingers. "But I'm happy that you're here. I think we can make each other a little richer by the year's end."
