The young witch had never actually felt death magic upon her skin before, nor had she ever met any individual whom had practiced such an art. She certainly danced the line, frequently utilizing the very life force of the living to amplify the power of her own potions and yet, her blood magic was often from her own veins or rabbits she might have hunted in the forest. There was a stark proverbial line that death magic crossed and she was curious of what lay on the other side of her own morality. Her fingers intertwined with Azrael’s own as she dragged him towards that tent, hardly anticipating to find the disembodied parts of animals she could only half identify. She had held some idea, of course, as to what that forbidden magic consisted of and yet, seeing it first had was far different then the theories and spells contained within those leather bound books in her mentor’s library. Even despite her repulsion at those formaldehyde-filled jars, the girl hardly balked from meandering through that tent, her lips pressed together in a hard line as her grip tightened upon the Dark Hunter at her side. She could feel the woman’s cold gaze boring through them and yet, Serafina hardly balked in the slightest.

Those jarred ingredients left a bad taste in the back of the young woman’s mouth as if that very magic was somehow wrong. Thankfully, it was the comforting sound of Azrael’s voice that drew her stormy gaze towards the man and the ‘spoon’ that had so caught the man’s attention. Her gaze eyed that ‘spoon’ and yet, she was certain there was far more to it than just the wood it had been handcrafted out of. A small tug on the man’s hand was all she gave him, immediately hushing her boyfriend from any further words of incredulous he might have offered that clearly dangerous witch. Serafina was entirely content to allow the man to mutter after the economy as she continued that circle of the display in that tent. That was, at least, until a rather distinct sound captured both of their attention. Her own figure turned far slower towards the witch at the center of that tent, her stormy gaze eyed the woman near wearily before her eyes turned slowly downwards towards the moving sheet and sandy colored paws. Slowly, Serafina dropped to her knees, her head tilted to the side as she glanced under that cover, her eyes widening at the creature she saw within.

That small kitten was nothing short of the very definition of exotic. There were so few of them in existence, the Sand Cat found only in one location in the entirety of the world. Her attention shifted towards her boyfriend as Azrael insisted she hardly had a license to sell animals only for the man’s voice to abruptly end. It hardly took much longer for the truth of that cat’s fate to dawn upon her. She rose as the witch only confirmed her suspicions on the cat’s species only to list a price that, while more than Serafina had wanted to spend, was entirely worth it for such a specimen. The girl could hardly help that near frantic way she tugged upon the man’s shoulder, her voice whispering quite abruptly in his ear over just how cheap such a price was given how rare the cat was! She was rather certain that it was illegal to even keep such an animal as a pet! They were classified as an endangered species! Her fingers near immediately wet to her own purse as she fetched her wallet. The girl’s lack of government papers resulted in it being rather difficult to have her own credit card of any significant value, most of her finances were kept in cash, leaving her scrambling to put together such funds on hand. She was hardly even listening to Azrael, her thoughts entirely focused on how much was on what card and what was left over.

She hardly expected her boyfriend to pull out his own wallet, though that huff in his tone as he declared that he’d take care of it told him well he was hardly as pleased at her insistence to own this cat instead of the many others she could have acquired in it’s place. A warm grin settled upon her features at her victory and yet, she had every intention of ensuring the man felt such a purchase was worth it later that evening. It was the sudden presence of that fabled back card, however, that caused even Serafina to pause. As a business owner, she knew exactly what that card was, and too exactly how wealthy her boyfriend must be in turn. Those grey tinged eyes turned from that card to the man at her side, a single eyebrow rose ever so slightly and yet, for now, she hardly saw a reason to press him upon the state of his finances. Rather, the young woman scooped that kitten up in her arms, her fingers lightly stroking the mewing kitten’s head. Even despite the girl’s often cynical nature, even she found it near heartbreaking to think of the poor Sand Cat meeting its demise had they not come along.

Silently, Serafina followed her companion outside, the young witch equally as glad to be away from that tent and it’s oppressive sensation of death. She paused at his side beneath the shade of a nearby tree, the girl wholly content to show off that little feline in her arms. “He’s pretty cute, hm?” She inquired as Azrael turned his attention towards the cat. “Yes, I’m sure. They’re only found in Africa I think….I’m pretty sure you’re not even allowed to keep one as a pet.” A small shrug crossed her shoulders and yet, Serafina was hardly bothered by Azrael’s sudden insistence that the cat was going to her home. The young witch rolled her eyes at her boyfriend and yet….she still found herself pausing, glancing back at that tent. “Azrael?” She uttered quite abruptly. “Could you…make sure the council sends someone after her?” She inquired, altogether aware of how peculiar it was that she was asking him to hunt one of her own kind. “But not you, okay?” The girl insisted, those stormy grey eyes glancing up at him with a certain level of firmness in her voice. Though she knew well the sort of creatures that he went up against, and too how dangerous his job was, the last thing she wanted was for him to meet his demise to a death witch. It was only once she had gained some assurance from him that Serafina turned her attention back towards the feline, the girl continuing all the same as if she hadn’t asked him to ensure the murder another witch but moments before. “You paid for him so you get to name him.”
