and I will love you even when we're dust amongst the stars On November 24, 2017 at 5:10 PM by vhalla solarn

you could rattle the stars.
you could do anything,
if only you dared

Vhalla still wasn’t entirely sure what to think of this newfound stranger. Everything bright and good in the world; the assassin was taken back to a time where she had managed to make a girlfriend here in Sacrosanct. Someone she hadn’t thought about in a long time; there were some similarities between Elain and Sam but at the same time they were so beyond different. Sam had never been confident, loving yes, but confidence wasn’t one of her strong suits while Elain excluded confidence and could hardly care what anyone else thought of her.

Blinking away the thought, she pushes Sam from the farthest reaches of her mind as she returns to the present. Noting the arching of the girl’s brow in return to her comment, Vhalla merely shrugs at her as she states alcohol wouldn’t help. She parts her mouth in response but she decides better of it and snaps it closed. It was one thing admitting to herself she was a drunk but admitting to someone else… well, they didn’t need to know that about her.

Allowing those ice blue eyes of her follow Elain as she retrieves an assortment of vegetables, Vhalla doesn’t say anything. Instead, she munches quietly on her apple, enjoying the delectable sweetness that explodes in her mouth. How she loved this time of year for fruit! They are quiet for a moment until their conversation shifts, Vhalla focusing entirely on the woman before her. Her perceptive eyes taking in every inch of the girl, realizing she was… harmless. She kicked herself for not paying attention earlier, and yet, other races were so entirely hard to pin point these days.

Ivan would wallop her if he knew she had left her guard down for even a moment. Her response has the assassin relaxing, her gaze finally shifting from Elain, grudgingly respecting her for not cowering from her inspection. Finishing off the apple, she tosses it in a nearby trash can and locks her fingers before shoving them in her pocket. Burying her cold nose in her scarf again, she turns back to Elain, “We all become things we don’t want to,” she mutters in her scarf, just loud enough for the girl to hear.

She’s just about to call it a day when Elain excitedly invites her to dinner. Blinking slowly at the invitation, she debates on telling her no but the only thing that waited for her at home was more alcohol. Cringing inwardly at the thought, she turns towards Elain and shrugs, “Sure, I don’t have anything else planned,” she murmurs as she waits for Elain to pay. It doesn’t take long before the woman has her food all packed up and they are moving back the way they come. Vhalla is quiet for most of the walk, her brows furrowed in that typical brooding manner of hers she tended to always have plastered on her face these days.

“So, how did you become a Dark Hunter? You said you didn’t have a choice,” she pries, wondering just how much information she could get out of her unexpected encounter. Waiting for a moment so she can reply, she tilts her head regarding the townhouse they came on. Waiting patiently at the bottom of the stairs, she allows Elain to open the door, inviting her in. Trailing inside after her, she takes up her offer and sits in the couch, her eyes traveling across the room. “I’ve never had a home cooked meal before,” she admits, “What’s for dinner? I would offer to help but you’ll have to walk me through it. I... I don’t know how to cook.”
