i'm not ashamed of my scars, i'm ashamed of the world for not understanding.

It was a shame that in this country they couldn’t do anything else for Dorian and his privacy. It simply wasn’t fair. It wasn’t his fault he was born into a royal family. Just like it wasn’t her fault she was born into her abusive one. The Fae King and his significant other didn’t deserve to have their entire lives be under the lenses. The ideal of losing such a luxurious right as privacy was sickening, and something Raven was grateful she would never lose. Hopefully though they would leave him alone soon. Perhaps she and her mate could come by in their Were forms and scare them away. Leave Dorian and his own mate a brief moment of relief. Then again they could always go the more formal route. The Mayor might sympathize enough to make some sort of law within their city that extends more privacy or rights for the Italian King. She didn’t know anyone in government. In fact she wished to stay away from them as far as possible, including anyone from the Security Council. Back at home she was well-known by the others, they knew to stay away from her. After that night when everyone learned she had murdered her pack, she was hunted down, until their sister pack claimed they would be responsible for her. Leaving her here in the city all on her own was their solution. Leave it to her to be hunted down and killed, the minute she turned feral. Though such thoughts broke away as she attempted to figure out why after February the paparazzi would leave him alone. That her friend was expected to be married, and so soon, was answered with a sharp gasp and a wide smile on her pink lips.

“Congratulations! I am very happy for you, for both of you!”

The mention that he had given the invitation to her mate was answered with a small chuckle. Truly her companion was not meant to hold on to such important documents. Dorian didn’t know that then, but at least he knew that now. The very thought they they were invited to attend caught her off guard. Her deviant companion wasn’t fit to be among others in normal society, and sticking him with the elite class seemed, well, dangerous in a way. Of course she would want to attend the wedding and see Dorian on his special day, and yet, was he truly aware that inviting Tobias meant you were also potentially inviting trouble? Besides their presence alone may not be accepted by those that needed to attend per royal protocol. Raven wanted to go! However, she wanted to make sure Dorian knew what he was stepping into to.

“Thank you for inviting us, but are you sure? I mean we’re not you know, we aren’t dignitaries or belong to a royal family. We’re just Weres, and we belong in well, we aren’t in the same class as you. We won’t really fit in...and my mate...I’ll do my best with him. I assume there are rules or customs...or...you know things I’m supposed to know or follow...I don’t know any of these things, and February isn’t far away.”

Not many found her Tobias to be, well liked. There was hardly anyone that ever praised him for being as he was. Although he was not a Doctor that created a serum to separate his good self from his bad impulses and as a result turned into a man without a conscience, the book she referenced was the closest she could get to making her point. That Dorian’s Father appreciated those that were far different from their peers and she was pleased to hear that Dorian felt the same way. The lupine couldn’t help, but blush as he pointed out how much her mate cared for her. The leopard had his way of expressing his thoughts, especially about her, in different ways.

“The Strange Case of Dr. Jerkyll and Mr. Hyde is a very good book, I should have to buy you a copy. Your Father sounds quite right, I think. My mate he has a lot of quirks, and each one is good regardless on what others think or say.”

Happily she shared her memory of that day with her friend. There were times when it was much easier for her to share those special moments without words rather than to imbed those memories into another’s head, so that they took could see it through her eyes. With a polite giggle she shook her head as she continued to scratch Maxwell’s ears.

“No, it’s still the traditional way. Tobi is just trying in his own way. And thank you, I thought he did a wonderful job. I think your ring is quite beautiful too!”

Sharing those engagement photos with the Italian King was quite fun! Quietly she grabbed her tea and then herself, a biscuit, munching on it quietly. Once more her cheeks turned a rosy red at hearing the Italian King utter praise at the mere sight of him. No male or female ever commented on his looks before. A small simper appeared as she ducked her head still blushing.

“Yes, when he cleans himself up he can be quite a sight. And paws off Dorian, you may be a King, but he belongs to me.”

Of course Raven’s tone held a humorous and playful remark. She truly didn’t not believe that her friend would do anything to take Tobias away from her. Let alone even attempt to do such a thing. It was a true compliment coming from him. The question about when they were to get married was met with a nod and a quick reply.

“The goal is some time this year Preperbally Spring, but I could do Fall too. My closest friend, Serafina is my maid of honor so she is helping me. But...I have a favor to ask of you Dorian.”

If Raven had it her way she would have gotten married the very day he proposed. And yet, she was dissuade otherwise. It would be better if she had a proper ceremony, a chance to celebrate a monumental occasion in her life. Serafina had promised to make her wedding beautiful and she entrusted her witch friend with such a task. Her Alpha even claimed he would pay for everything in the wedding. It would be a lot of work for them to do, but in the end it would be worth it. Her best friend and her Alpha each had their role within the wedding. Though she would need someone to be with her when she walked down the aisle. Removing her hand from Maxwell’s head she brought her hands to herself, as she fretfully grabbed her fingers in her nervous habit. With a shaky breath she inquired cautiously her favor.

“My pack...they mistreated me and my Father well...I...can you please walk with me down the aisle? I know you’re not my Father, and I don’t belong to you, and you’re a King, but you are a very dear friend of mine.”
