    Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawethorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

He looked almost entranced by the puppy, like it was the new love of his life or something. It was sort of odd to watch but Malia didn't find it as uncomfortable as watching most other humans with their pets. Most of the time, it gave her the heebie jeebies, like goosebumps you couldn't get rid of. He looked downright confused when she asked about keeping her fingers crossed, like she was supposed to know what that meant or something. Of course he didn't know she'd spent more than half her life living in the wilderness as a coyote. He seemed to be stalling, his words trailing off as if to try to get his words more in order first. Finally he said that it doesn't do anything but admitted it was more of a good luck thing. She wrinkled her nose. "Oh, ok, I guess. I make my own luck." Her lips quirked. Then she noticed his arms starting to drop a little. "Something wrong? She can walk, you know." It didn't occur to her that she could probably offer to hold her for him. She felt weird holding an animal...unless it was by the scruff in her teeth.

When he talked about being lost and she responded, he suddenly got a little defensive, saying he was just walking. She raised a brow in question but finally she felt him relaxing and then he said he wasn't paying attention and he still had to learn his way around town. She nodded. "I wander around a lot and it helps. Maybe you should try it." Then he said something about the map, but she raised a brow, listening for sarcasm. She shrugged. "Or just map it out by scent. That's how I remember it." When he asked about how long she'd been in town, she tried to be as truthful as she could without just admitting that she came here with a pack of coyotes she was raised with. He raised a brow and she noticed but luckily he didn't ask on it so she let it go. Good. He wasn't as nosey as she could be then. He seemed to be looking for something to say now, saying the place seemed pretty cool. She smirked. "I guess it's alright. It grows on you."

She noticed the puppy starting to fall asleep on his shoulder and she smiled, her face softening for a moment before she glanced up. "What's that?" She heard the snap of the bow string and her eyes suddenly glowed. "Watch out!" She grabbed his shoulder, about to push him out of the way but her heartrate was too elevated and instead of just moving him, they suddenly disappeared, reappearing in an alley a few feet away. Even as they were vanishing, she could see the arrow hit the wall right where he'd been walking a moment before. She gasped, her hand releasing his shoulder the moment they reappeared, bending over and gasping as if she couldn't catch her breath. "What...the...hell..." She breathed, trying to calm herself down. Why had they been targetted? Who were those guys?
