There was a slight noble head nod that came from Dorian as he accepted Navi’s short apology. It was certain for now that the two would keep their distance. If anything, there was little interest for her to get to know others better. That wasn’t her intention when joining the council in the first place. Andras had suggested of joining the court to her, to which she had demanded that she still have full independence. She meant it. Her attention was quickly drawn over to Dorian when he proceeded to crouch down and draw what seemed to be a coat. As the three men poked fun at one another, Navi just stood aside, learning the interactions between the three. They all seemed fairly content with one another with how they teased one another, and grins were seen dancing across all their features.

Suddenly, Troy had posed a question for Dorian which in return, the noble fae gave a quiet sigh as Navi observed his expression become more serious than normal. She listened as Dorian explained how he was only half fae by blood and how he discovered he was a fae at the age of six. There was a slight relation between the two of them. Navi’s mother had always expressed to her from a young age that she was special, and that the powers she had weren’t like other kids. She had always assumed it was just inherited from her mother who was a psychic in their village. Little did she know, what she truly was until it was too late to ask questions. How she had so many questions she wanted to ask her mother while she was still alive. Fortunately, Andras had somewhat filled the role of a figure who had the answers she was looking for. Maybe that’s why Navi felt the need to stick around him for now.

There was a continuation with the plethora of questions Andras was explaining to the group that were posed by Dorian. Navi now half-tuning the conversation out, as always lost in the racing thoughts that bubbled in her mind. Their conversation simultaneously fell silent as they reached the lodge. It was a sleek modern building that towered above them, looking down across the city along the horizon. This place that they had frankly rushed into thanks to Navi’s impatience, held fantastic trees and wilderness that tantalized her. Instinctually, she wanted to climb onto the tallest tree, quietly listening to the life around her scuttle, chirp, and rustle about as she napped peacefully above. ”Perhaps, I’ll be able to do that soon,” she pondered as she waltzed into the living room before her where she was introduced to the caretaker of the lodge. , they were introduced to a grey-haired faerie named Ida.

As they all exchanged pleasantries around the living room, Andras interrupted as he politely asked Ida to fetch them refreshments. Navi felt the studious gaze of Troy as he tried to figure out exactly how her and Andras paths had crossed. Every now and then her and Troy’s glances would meet, and she would abruptly examine elsewhere, making sure not to make things any more awkward than they already seemed to be. It’s not that she had anything against Troy, he was just more in depth and observant than she anticipated. He was very keen when it came to understanding others and the behaviors and mannerisms they so displayed without fully recognizing their own personality peeking through their façades. He continues to speak, informing the three other fae’s that his goal was to answer as many questions as possible for the day and that he would be frank and honest. There was a streak of seriousness now that was masked on his face, as if he was readying himself to be attacked.

Not a moment later, Troy mentioned that everyone should share a little bit about one another. ”Great,” Navi anticipated she’d have to be next in line for explaining her situation. As to how miniscule the details she was to tell them, was an understatement. Yet, she listened to Troy explain his childhood being filled with learning his father’s trade and his absence in the following years. Troy expressed slight irritation by the way she watched his jaw clench at the mention of how he hadn’t had contact with his father in over 300 years. His voice cracked multiple times as his breath grew uneven when he continued to tell his past story. As the silence settled in the room, Troy sighed looking around and asked if anyone else wanted to share.

Immediately, Navi’s eyes glanced over towards Andras and Dorian wanting one of them to speak first. Surely enough, Dorian was the next person to build courage to reveal his past to the group sitting in the living room, only the crackling fireplace reverberating noise across the spacious lodge.
