i never did believe in the ways of magic120.154.95.146Posted On January 08, 2018 at 4:18 PM by Dorian Aragona

Dorian was, perhaps, equally as appalled as Abigail at her companions utter lack of ownership of anything even resembling cutlery. How on earth did the man entertain guests? More than that, how did he partake of any meal that was not taken readily from a host- so to speak? Did Arlo simply never consume anything other than blood? Was not such a thing terribly boring? Perhaps the other vampire simply did not find any delight in human foods and yet, even Dorian himself, whom so rarely partook of any food at all, was inclined to admit that he found himself curious to sample those different foods on occasion. Perhaps this was why Sebastian had been so specific in choosing that menu for this evening, his lover working so diligently to serve something that would appeal to his vampiric companion and indeed, something his own blood could be added too with relative ease. Dorian, to some extent, rather fascinated by the idea of a vampire whom fed on other vampires. The man near equally as curious of the notion that Sebastian was not only accepting of that curious trait within his companion, but seemed wholly willingly to indulge in allowing Arlo his blood in turn. The Fae King wholly oblivious to the effects of Arlo’s bite in any sense and that high it so rendered within his lover. Rather, Dorian so merely assumed Sebastian to be a distinctly generous individual in that regard. The Fae King making some effort to assure the woman that Sebastian was certainly capable of assisting her Arlo in that acquisition of dinnerware. After all, perhaps some of his lovers excellent manner might so eventually rub off on Arlo, so to speak. Dorian quite sure the other vampire was lacking several of those more gentlemanly basics and yet he hardly made a move to offer any such suggestion as Arlo reluctantly agreed to acquiring household basics and Abby seemed all the more delighted.

His gaze glanced briefly away from the young woman then and back toward the pair of vampires, their conversation seeming decidedly critical to them both and yet the manner in which both men seemed inclined to glance toward Abigail herself so surely gave at least some indication of just what they may well have been discussing. Dorian so easily given to that natural observation of those around him and yet he made no move to interrupt that conversation. Rather, his attention returned again to the young woman. Dorian finding her cheerful demeanor and pleasant nature distinctly delightful. In fact, she reminded him rather extensively of the women in his own court. Girls in his time so raised to be the very picture of pleasant delight at any social event. How glorious it was to meet such a woman again whom so embodied such things. Even if he had hardly understood just where she had come from or exactly what positions her parents had held. Conservationist and Wildlife Biologist two professions rather lost upon the centuries old Fae. In the very least he had been assured she was hardly a farmer. In fact, it was highly possible she was several social classes above her musician suitor and yet for now Dorian remained wholly content to query her on her very species. After all, it was terribly rare to have a chance to converse with a Red Panda. The Monarch’s natural curiosity so striving to be answered in that moment even if, it seemed, his query on the full moon was as baffling to her as that wine proved to be. Had she truly never tasted such a thing? Surely not! Dorian regarding her with a clear surprise as he afforded her it’s name, the girl seeming to decide she found it tasty as that warm smile found his own lips. His head nodding softly.

“It is indeed, although if you are not used to drinking it I think it best if you sip at it slowly.”

It would hardly do to have the poor woman succumb to that wine so early in the evening, Dorian offering that simple caution for her consideration in the least before Abby considered that moon more readily. Why on earth the moon should affect a Were-creature he had little idea. The idea that it was due to that nocturnal nature prompting that look of consideration to his own features. Perhaps that was it. It was sensible, he supposed. Her promise to find out and inform him met with a soft chuckle then as his silver gaze continued to linger on her own.

“I should like that, thank you.”

Perhaps he could ask Charles more about it. Although truly in all the time he had known that manservant he had never inquired as to what sort of animal the man was. Such a question had seemed almost, personal, in a sense. Perhaps Sebastian would know. Dorian so pausing to glance at the pair once more, one eye rising slightly at several faint words that reached his own ears and yet, once more, Dorian was wholly content to let the pair enjoy one another's company. The Monarch instead choosing to ask Abigail about those Were-packs he had heard so much about. First from Samantha and later from Raven herself. The young woman affording him a near blank look before asking him what they were. Dorian so allowing his head to tilt slightly in that ready confusion before that amusement found his features.

“I fear I can’t rightly say myself. I have simply been told that Were-creatures like yourself are often part of packs with other Were-creatures. A friend of mine, Raven, is prone to this shifting as well. She can turn herself into a wolf you see, but she speaks often of her pack. There is an Alpha, like a leader and then a Beta, who is like his second in command and then several others and honestly I don’t really know what they do. I suppose they meet and…..honestly I’ve not really considered it. Perhaps they take day trips together? Else they find some other activity to partake off with one another? Raven says it is like a family to her. It seems very important.”

Perhaps some Were’s simply did not have packs? Dorian content to push such a thought aside for now especially as it seemed Abby herself so hardly knew. Rather, the Monarch found himself far more inclined to ask after her relationship with her companion. After all, it was decidedly pleasant to speak to another being so inclined to be dating a vampire. Dorian rather assured, despite how unusual he found the pair, that they were rather distinctly suited. That story of how they had met however was rather unanticipated, Dorian’s eyes widening slightly at the idea of the woman before him chasing an apple and quite literally running into the man. Why on earth had she been chasing an apple? How did an apple escape one's grasp to begin with? What a perfectly odd story. Very little about this couple, it seemed, was terribly conventional. That simper on his lips all the same.

“I can’t quite say I’ve ever heard a story like that. Did you ever manage to find your apple?”

That query of just how he had met Sebastian prompted that near impish grin to his lips now. Dorian quite content to think on that very night and yet mentions of that intended one night stand were perhaps not wholly suitable for his present company.

“We met at a bar. I found him terribly charming.”

He commented simply, after all, such a thing was hardly a lie. They had indeed met at a bar. Even if they had been outside it and such an establishment had been on fire. Neither of them having sought anything from that initial encounter other then that time between the sheets and yet Dorian so held that distinct belief that the woman before him was rather….unfamiliar with what occured between those sheets at all. It was that near idle comment that Vampires were not terribly good at making friends that seemed to capture the young woman's intrigue then. Abigail seeming near oblivious to just why those of the vampiric persuasion might be less inclined to bond with one another, Dorian frowning slightly in that further consideration.

“I think, perhaps, Sebastian or Arlo might better provide answers to such a thing but I quite think it is a matter of territory, so to speak. They tend to be a little...possessive over the things they own or like and are not inclined to sharing. This, I think, is why they do not often get along. Vampires are just designed to hunt alone- most of the time.”

His own shoulders lifted in a shrug of sorts. Dorian quite assured Sebastian himself might better answer such a query, the Monarch hardly wishing to poorly explain that vampiric nature. The Fae King asking after just how long Abigail had been dating Arlo, perhaps it had not been long if she had not noticed such traits for herself. Dorian so hardly anticipating that singular reaction that question seemed to prompt. The girl suddenly becoming terribly….flustered. That almost rush of words he was rewarded with saw the Monarch blink, Dorian largely unable to understand half off what the poor girl had said in her panicked state.

“I’m sorry I- didn’t quite catch that. You dated a boy for a day but your not...dating Arlo?”

Had that been what she said? Could a person even truly date another for one day? Dorian not at all assured such a thing counted as truly dating in any sense and yet the woman seemed so terribly shocked at having been asked at all that it was, perhaps, not an ideal time to query her further. His gaze shifted briefly from the woman then, glancing toward Arlo before returning to Abigail. Her cheeks positively flushed. It was evident, truly, that she clearly possessed some sort of feelings for the man. A woman did not act in such a manner as that for a boy she did not like. Dorian allowing that warm grin to find him again as he regarded her, the girl so clearly trying to bury herself in her salad. The Monarch pausing to neatly take a bite off his own, assuring himself Arlo was otherwise distracted. His words softly uttered for her alone. That near impish look finding him then.

“Well, for what it is worth I think you would do very nicely together. He’s quite good looking and I am also quite certain he fancies you. The only person in this room he truly looks at is you. He’s terribly bad at courting but give him a chance. Besides- he has a nice butt, don’t you think?”

One eye lifted slightly upward, that gentle tease simply offered before that soft chuckle left his lips. Dorian slipping another lettuce leaf between his lips as if he had not spoken at all. That gentle reassurance added all the same.

“Don’t worry yourself so much, darling. He clearly likes you just as you are.”

His head nodded once more, the Fae so attempting to assure her that whatever it was she had been doing, intentional or otherwise, had clearly inclined Arlo towards her and that he simply seemed to enjoy her for exactly the being she was. That sudden shout of ‘Your Highness’ seeing him look up. Dorian holding up that correct fork before Arlo proceeded to near inhale a salad with more speed that any being Dorian had ever seen. Heavens! Sebastian had been right. The man did have a taste for that blood. Dorian briefly glancing towards his lover then before Arlo’s quietly offered compliment saw that simper find his lips again. His assumptions on Arlo’s feelings for the woman entirely right. Even if Abigail seemed to be struggling with the concept, her reply little more than a nervous stammer. Goodness but the art of courtship had slipped! Dorian struggling not to shake his head at the pair!

“Sebastian and I were given to hear a little of your music a few nights ago, Arlo. It was an acoustic piece, it was quite lovely. Did you know that footage of you still exists on the YouTube? Would you be willing to consider, perhaps, playing such a piece again?”
