dance to the rhythm of your heartbeat

It was entirely true that there was no one else in her life. How could there be when Andras was the one that consumed every silent moment that she spent alone, left to her own devices that seemed ever so keen on returning her to those fond memories that she could easily live in forever? How could there be any other man in her life that made her feel so much so fast and with such a deep intensity that it almost left her mind reeling as her heart would race wildly within her breast? She loved everything about him, from the way that he would give her that devilish smile as he surely sought to bring that flush to fair-skinned cheeks in their own little unspoken game of sorts to the way that he would hold her close to him and kiss her. For Beylani, those kisses touched so much more than her lips. They touched her heart, her very soul… and for those passionate moments that always seemed to be far too fleeting than she would ever want them to be, there was nothing else. There was no world that she had to return to. There was no part-time job at the café that summoned her during those morning and early afternoon hours. There was no hometown that would call to her, bring her back home for a day or two so that she could see the smiling and ever-adoring faces of the family that she knew waited for her there in that small rural town. There was no life beyond Somnia… beyond Andras. She tried her best not to let that tidal wave of desperate wishing and dreaming get the best of her, but there were those nights, when she was alone in her room wide awake and haunted by those hazel eyes of his, that those memories killed her a little more, shatter yet another piece of her will to fight against how she so truly and deeply felt for him.

Overwhelmed by that love she told herself so many times over that would never be returned, there had been nights which had nearly forced her out from beneath those covers to throw on warm winter clothes only to flee from her apartment and down the stairwell to the plain white four-door sedan that sat there parked beside the vehicles belonging to the other residents of Riverdale. How she would come so painfully close to getting into that car and driving to the Townhouse where she knew he lived during his time here in Sacrosanct, those directions forever imprinted into her mind. Innumerable times, Beylani would imagine herself running up those three steps to knock on his door. He would open it then, surprise bright in those hazel depths as he would ask her what it was that she was doing there on his doorstep at such an hour. It would be then and there that she would not be able to help herself. No longer would she be able to withhold all that she felt for him. She would pour her entire heart out to him then, baby blue eyes pleading as they surrendered at last to that desperate, aching want for him to know that she loved him. To the moon and back, to the ends of the universe and beyond, she loved him. She wanted to tell him how it ran deeper than the darkest sea, burned brighter than the summer sun, reached higher than the tallest mountain… She wanted him to know that no matter what happened, despite the undeniable truth that what they could have together for the rest of her days would hardly last for even a fraction of his time when the day came that she ceased to exist, she wanted to be with him. Oh, how she wanted to be with him to the point that it would threaten to break her.

Mankind had yet to know enough words that could ever break the surface of all that her heart felt for him, how endlessly each and every soft beat would call out to his own with silent pleading that its wordless cry would be heard. She would stop herself from running to him like she came so very close to doing as she would lay there in her bed unable to find sleep. Yes, she feared the darkness little more ever since the attack when she’d almost lost her life and surely would have if not for Andras, but that was hardly the true reason that she fastened herself there, miraculously able to deny herself when she was so hopeless against the tidal wave of emotions tinged with fantasy and heartbreak all in the same singular moment. She couldn’t bear the thought of him taking her in his arms then, telling her that he cared for her, but he simply couldn’t bring himself to feel the same about her. No matter how much she would try and tell herself that she needed to be ready for the day when that very reality she refused to face, she just… couldn’t. It was selfish, this she knew, wanting to have him, wanting him to love her back, but she couldn’t help herself. An ache would find her then on these nights, and what the fae man didn’t know… what no one knew, was that it was in these moments that tears would fall from those baby blue eyes, trailing down her cheek only to soak into those pillows. Never had she felt so much love and pain in the same instance that it would cause that fierce ache in her heart and very soul to manifest as it did, but those silent cries would eventually swallow the young woman in a dreamless slumber until morning light leaked through those thin white curtains.

Andras smiles at her then, and it is enough to drag her away from the sadness that threatens to pull at those heartstrings of hers, reminding her then that despite the unspoken pain hidden from the eyes of the world, she loved seeing him smile. He extends a finger to flick gently against her nose as he states that him being the only man in her life pleased him and all she can do is smile softly up to the fae man as he gives her a playful wink, only to shift into a nearly devilish grin to give clear indication that he was able to hear the way that her heart began to race in those sensitive fae ears. It was that clear delight that he took in her reaction as his hand brushes softly against her skin that has her growing bolder then as she reaches to toy with those buttons of his shirt until the first two come undone, hardly missing the way his own strong frame seemed to react beneath her gestures. Indeed it truly was a chess game of sorts between the woman and the fae man, one that she was almost certain to lose as he shattered her around him with that “checkmate”, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t try and best him for at least that figurative round. The desire burns in his hazel depths, and while she is tempted to linger there longer, she moves away if only to steady herself. Like an ever-flowing river, their conversation shifts, and suddenly he shifts into a solemn disposition as he almost demands that she stay away from the man she’d met. Not that they such a thing would be hard for the blue-eyed blonde more than keen to avoiding him if at all possible simply from that first encounter. She may very well never forget how the man with stark white hair had made her feel, how he’d made her wary only to press her further as he invaded her thoughts and dared to bring up Andras’ name. Gods only knew that she certainly didn’t feel like playing his mind games, not when he would so boldly tread those waters she guarded even from the honey-blonde woman she adored as though she were a long-lost sister of hers.

Un-phased by the quickness of the fae man’s hand has he shifts her to face him, she can swear that she sees fear in those hazel eyes as they bore down upon her. Was Frost truly so dangerous? She’d thought of him as invasive and intimidating, but she’d been able to return to her shift unscathed – physically – from that meeting with him, content to have allowed the man and Ellie to disappear outside the café so she could regain herself. The moment passes and Andras easily moving her from that place in front of the cooking dish as he practically commandeers her kitchen. Amusement flickers across those baby blues as she moves to fetch the wine he requests as he completes the preparations, her own words bringing from Andras a fusion of confusion and amusement at her remark, asking her why it was that she thought he didn’t eat before going on to say that he hardly seemed to lose interest as the ways of culinary evolution were ever-changing. Giving a small nod of agreement as she sips on that wine, she can’t hide the light that illuminates her baby blue depths as he laughs gently when she brings up those amazing kabobs he’d shown her during their ventures of the Winter Solstice Festival. It was one of her favorite memories… A gentle note of laughter slips past her own lips in wordless reply as she simply relishes in the ease that falls between them. If only every day could be like this, the two of them cooking together, laughing and smiling all the while… That pang of longing nearly sweeps her away before she is able to push it aside, her attention once again focused solely on the fae man as midnight tenor tones pull her from those thoughts that had threatened to steal her from the present yet again, the small distance between them vanishing altogether.

When his frame is pressed against her own, she can’t help the shudder that electrifies her. His scent, his touch, she is enveloped in all that was Andras in that moment, baby blue eyes searching those dark hazels with silent yearning. There was no need for words, to ask for that kiss she so craved, for soon his lips find hers and she meets Andras with that same feverish wanting. He picks her up effortlessly and places her on the table then, their kisses deeper than the one before as her breathing quickens and her heart is beating rapidly in her breast as every part of her begs for his touch, for those kisses to never cease. He shifts so that he is between her legs, further driving her desire for him ever deeper, his hand resting behind her neck as her head tilts up to meet him, slender fingers making quick work of that third button as she loses herself in the moment that she was far from ready to end. Suddenly, it is brought to a screeching halt when that knock is heard on the door and a soft gasp leaves her lips. How could she have been so caught up in Andras that she’d almost entirely forgotten about the arrival of her mother and father!? When her feet touch the scuffed hardwood flooring and she makes her way to the door, she's well aware of Andras' presence behind her and it takes more than it should for her to calm the sudden rise of those nerves. When she opens the door and is immediately swept up into her mother's arms, the right embrace is almost enough to soothe her, although it remains as she glances ever so briefly over to her father who has those wary eyes lingering upon Andras before he nods his own head in wordless courtesy despite that subtle questioning which remained unspoken for the time being before looking back to Beylani warmly. She fully expected the man to be uncertain of her company, but that was what made him such a good father.

There is a gentle smile on Andras' lips when Beylani turns back to meet those hazel eyes of his, and when she moved to stand beside him, offering those introductions as she had so been taught, he steps forward to greet the older man and woman. He was smooth in his greeting as he clasps Zameir's offered hand, with all the warmth refinement that she had expected of him. When Andras turns to shake Ruth's hand, the older woman gives the fae man a warm smile in return as a melodic chuckle falls from her lips."Well, thank you Andras. My, you're even more charming in person! I'm so glad that you and my daughter bumped into each other. You know, I was quite worried about who she'd find in this huge city but it seems she got rather lucky with you", she says brightly as she laughs lightly. Beylani can't help the gentle smile that finds her own lips as the warmth threatens to color her cheeks then as her mother practically gushed over Andras, but she is quick to focus on the fae man as he moves to stand beside her once more, an encouraging smile on his lips that has her nerves calming as she nods in agreement to his suggestion."That sounds like a great idea. I'll get the wine and glasses", she says brightly, moving into the kitchen as Ruth and Zameir move to take their seats at the table."So. Andras. What is it that you do?", came the gravelled tones of her father who still kept his gaze on the fae man, Beylani almost wincing visibly as she searching through her cabinets until she found the glasses she has been looking for."You certainly dress sharply. Did business bring you to Sacrosanct? When Lani told us that she wanted to move all the way here from Willowhaven, it definitely took some getting used to. It's such a busy place", Ruth chimes in warmly before looking over to the blue-eyed blonde."Sweetie, do you need help?", she asks then with that motherly tone so naturally coloring her voice."I've got it. Thanks mom", she replies over her shoulder before making her way to the kitchen table and placing a glass in front of her parents and Andras before setting in in front of her own chair, pouring the wine into each before settling into place beside Andras, baby blue eyes glancing over to the fae man. If he could handle a court, of course he could handle a protective father and curious mother, and yet still she couldn't help shifting her gaze between the two men. It wasn't her mother that she was worried about, that much was already quite clear.
