He'd never blame her for wanting to be free of that life her parents had tried to make for her. He hoped that she'd never feel the need to go back, at least to stay. He understood that she might want to visit her mother some time but maybe with the bistro booming and the house and land around it starting to look downright beautiful, he'd like to think there was plenty to keep her here. He didn't know if he fit into that list of things to stay for but she was certainly on the list for him. He knew there was always the danger of Doug finding him but he couldn't bring himself to leave Adelaide now that she'd come into his life. He never wanted to hold her back from her dreams. He only wanted to help her achieve them and soar to new heights. He knew that he wasn't the man of her dreams or the man her parents would want her to have at her side. He's not even the man Townsend wants in her life. But none the less, he would stay as long as she wanted him there.

She was the one for him. He knew it without a doubt though he was sure she would call him crazy if he told her as much. So instead he just stole affectionate looks at her out of the corner of his eyes when she wasn't looking. She was making it way too hard tonight though. He was still a man and he still had urges. He was a gentleman by nature and his mother had raised him right but he had his limits and she was testing every single one of them. His words only seemed to fuel the fire burning in her tonight as her smile tugged tighter, bringing his own attention around to how full and soft her lips were that night when he kissed her. They tasted like heaven and he knew he wanted another taste but if he started now, he might not be able to stop himself. Scratch that. He WOULDN'T be able to stop himself, period. She had everything turned up to 110 degrees and he was burning alive here. It felt like the heat was on in the house suddenly and he found himself sheepishly looking for the thermostat but it said 70 degrees, just as he'd set it.

It was just her then and that crazy sexual tension they had cooking between them. She purred to him about him not wanting her to stop and he swallowed, running a hand through his hair. "Let's just say my mind and my body are on two different juries tonight." He said in a low raspy voice filled with yearning. Then her fingers were toying with the button on his jeans and he grasped them gently, searching her expression. She gave him the answer without uttering a single word though, her eyes all but screaming how badly she wanted him and it was all he could do not to utter another groan of agreement. She didn't look hesitant or even fearful. She looked resolute and determined. She was daring him with those luscious lips, daring him to kiss her. And God, how he wanted to. He was trying so damn hard not to ruin this and she was laying herself out on a platter for him, a gorgeous platter.

He told her that her opinion was the one that mattered, as long as she knew how he felt about her. She answered that she did and he smiled, the look so serene and blissful. He moved away to set the bottle of Tequila down and let her know just what he was good at cooking but she only seemed more curious to try it. She gave him a day and time and asked if he could gather the stuff by then. He smiled and nodded. "Shouldn't be too much of a problem." He gave her the tour and they ended it with the bedroom. She looked right at home all cuddled up on his pillow and it was killing him, the way she was looking at him in the doorway. When she asked if anything was wrong, he gave her a flimsy excuse at best about the doorway being comfortable and she replied by getting up and walking right over to him. He froze in his tracks, knowing her close proximity wasn't going to help matters at all. She told him boldly that they both knew that wasn't true and he smirked, tilting his head.

"Well, you wouldn't know unless you've felt this beast. Softest wood I've ever touched." He whispered it in as serious a voice as he could get, his brow rising. As she pressed herself against him, it was all he could do not to whimper. God, she felt amazing against him. He wanted to run his fingers over every inch of her. But he was doing so good! He glanced at the ceiling as if praying for mercy as her own hands ran over him and into his front pocket. Damn, this woman was pushy and it made her all the more sexy to him. Finally she brought up a distraction, drinks. God, yes, he needed a drink right now. He stepped back, hoping she wouldn't think he was downright rejecting her at this point cause that was the last thing in his mind. He wanted to let go but at the same time, he hated more than anything to make her feel like she is just another notch on the post. She was way more than that and he wanted to prove it to her.

He poured the drinks the best he could under the circumstances, at least glad he didn't spill any as he handed her hers and downed his. He said the first thing that came to mind, the first thing that always seemed to come to mind when it came to her. She just said that he'd told her and he chuckled. "And I'll keep saying it, just to remind you." His eyes twinkled. He was trying to rein in his longing even as she slowly turned for the couch, giving off a great view of her from every angle as she moved away with a sway of her hips. His hand tightened on the glass and he glanced down in shock when he thought he heard something crack. Great, now his glass was leaking. Damn urges. He put it in the sink and grabbed another one, pouring his third drink now as he swallowed and slowly turned back to her. She was still content to tease him though, it would seem. She made questions about doing something if not chatting and his brow rose expectantly as she said that she would eat something if he had enough but she wasn't hungry.

He started grabbing everything out and turned on the stove, easily making the patties and putting them on the skillet to start cooking. It was easier with distance between them. He could keep a clearer head this way. He tried to focus on the cooking but it was hard with her still practically in the same room. It wasn't like there was ten feet between the kitchen and living room in his apartment. He turned back to her, trying to think of something to talk about. "Chatting is good. There's still a lot we don't know about each other. Any siblings or best friends growing up?" He figured that was a good place to start. He smiled when she told him he could cook for her if he had enough. "I've got plenty and you should eat. Don't want Townsend to think I let you go hungry." He smirked. He continued to cook, flipping the patties and watching them go brown, checking to make sure they're cooked all the way before he put them on a plate and threw cheese on them so it would melt.

He heard her comment about the apartment and he smiled, his eyes brightening. "I'm glad you like it. It's pretty cozy, though it's better with company." He checked her glass to make sure she didn't need a refill. "Let me know if you need more refreshment, since you're the guest here. I have to make sure I'm a decent host." He winked playfully. He was feeling a little better now that the pressure was off. He could tell she was still wanting more and he was really close to just giving in but he wanted to feed her first. Real food, anyway. He fixed plates for both of them and turned from the counter. "You want to eat in there or at the table? Your choice."
