Sebastian Ellington

Crowned Consort of Italy

Somewhere, over the Gulf of Naples, that glistening sun slowly slipped over the horizon, casting the faintest hint of luminosity as the skies darkened from indigo to navy to an expansive blackness. It was only once that sun had finally set that the Englishman began to stir, those silken sheets altogether warm against the paleness of his own bare flesh. The warmth of Dorian’s sleeping form had quite near spread throughout that bed, prompting a sort of coziness that Sebastian was altogether content to simply bask within. For several long moments, the man simply lay there in that state of semi-wakefulness. He listened to the sound of Dorian’s steady breath and the crackle of the roaring fireplace that had been lit sometime earlier to assist in the ease of that waking process. It was rather unusual, really, for the vampire to find himself awake earlier than the fae King. Dorian was so often there to assist in pulling him from the depths of that daily death and yet, he could hardly fault the man. Despite how utterly important today was, the days leading up had been particularly busy. Last night alone had been a near whirlwind from last minute tuxedo fittings to the wedding rehearsal and the associated dinner. Each of those last minute details had needed to be seen to - all in preparation for today.

A small simper crossed Sebastian’s features as he rolled onto his side, his fingers reached out to gingerly brush against Dorian’s cheek in a small display of affection. They had been preparing for months for tonight. Everything had finally come to fruition and though he certainly wished to let the Italian Monarch sleep, he knew all too well that timeline that the pair was restricted too. He could already near feel that thrum of life that so seemed to fill the normally quiet palace halls. Those predatory senses were aware of the throng of prey somewhere outside, those crowds surely already beginning to line the streets in apprehension, even if it wouldn’t begin for several hours still before that procession to the cathedral begun. All of Italy would be watching tonight, if not for the thousands that would line the streets of Naples alone just for a sight of the future royal couple. In the next few days, they would be the talk of the world. It was daunting, to say the least, and yet, Italy had not had a wedding to celebrate in over six hundred years. He could scarcely blame them for their excitement, even if Sebastian had never felt a pressing presence quite like this before.

The vampire pushed such thoughts away from the forefront of his mind. After all, though the city might be fiercely celebrating their wedding, this evening was meant entirely for Dorian and himself. It wouldn’t be too much longer before Charles and Giles walked through that door to fetch him. After all, it was tradition for the wedded couple to be denied access to each other for the entirety of the day until they stood before the altar. He had yet to see even a glimpse of Dorian’s outfit for the day, saved for the assurance that it was surely fit for the man’s position as King. This was the very last moment they would have together as fiances. Tonight, when they found themselves back in that very bed, it would be as husbands. The sheer thought of it all caused that smile to widen ever so slightly. He scooted closer towards the fae King, letting the coolness of his own flesh embrace the man. Sebastian was well aware of that shift within his arms, the stark temperature change of his own body against Dorian’s seemed to prompt an almost unconscious effort to return back to that cocoon of warmth the Monarch had created, nestled within those sheets.

“Doriannn.” He uttered softly in his lover’s ear, that baritone voice entirely teasing in nature as he so strove to coax the man to wakefulness. He buried his face against the King’s neck, his lips ever so tenderly dancing against the man’s neck in a trail of sweet kisses. “It’s time to get up, Ma Bichette.” Sebastian continued in that same soft voice, entirely content to merely watch his fiance fight that grogginess of sleep that so clung to him. “Don’t you know what today is?” The vampire continued, hardly expecting a reply. Dorian, after all, knew exactly what today was. The Monarch had been altogether keen to inform him at multiple points the prior day of how much he was looking forward to tonight, of how excited he was of tonight. It amused Sebastian, truthfully. So many men were almost sad to see their last night of freedom go. How many stag nights were filled with sleeping with others and hoping their future husband or wife never found out? Dorian, on the contrary, seemed near thrilled at the idea of a married life. Perhaps, after six hundred years, the fae King had his fill of lonely nights and fleeting faces. Frankly, he was sure both of them had. “Matteo’s going to come steal you away from me soon, I don’t even get morning tea with you.” Sebastian lamented, even though he was entirely sure this temporary separation would be worth it. .
