    Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawethorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

Arlo James

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

Arlo stepped easily down those front steps in the wake of that closing front door, his blue gaze glancing sideways towards the red-haired young woman beside him, that simper finding his lips at that slight wobble to her walk. Maybe she was a lightweight? Hadn’t she only had like...two glasses of wine though? Still, there was something about it that was almost cute really. Arlo chuckling softly as his hand reached out to gently touch her arm if only to steady her a little and make sure she didn’t stumble down that uneven gravel path. He could feel those nerves fluttering within his stomach and his chest all at once. God he hadn’t felt like this since, hell, since he’d been human. Was he sweating? Could vampires sweat? He felt like he was. His tie suddenly felt tight all over again despite the fact he’d all but demolished that knot he’d fiddled with it so much. Seb had told him he needed to show her what it was like to be with him and he’d done that tonight hadn’t he? They’d had a great time right? This was surely a perfect time to say something wasn’t it? Maybe in a minute. God, he wasn’t even sure how to start. Maybe with something casual. His blue gaze turned toward her then as they headed for those gates.

“That was a great night tonight wasn’t it?”

He was pretty sure it was. Hell, he’d had a good time. He liked Seb, the guy was good company and the first real friend he’d managed to make in years. He’d even liked Dorian. For a King the Fae had seemed pretty chill really. Their house had been, well, a damn sight bigger and fancier then any house he’d ever been in all his life and yet he’d nearly forgotten all about it during that meal- he’d enjoy it so damn much. He’d hardly expected Seb to go to that level of trouble for him and yet he wasn’t about to complain. That blood was delicious. Arlo feeling surprisingly content after that meal and yet, it was hardly himself he was concerned about right now. It was important, somehow, that Abby had enjoyed that evening. He wanted her to like his friends and that dinner and everything else in between. Both her and Dorian seemed like they liked flowers, that was good right? He was pretty sure she’d even liked Seb. Although what on earth she and Dorian had been talking about at the end of the table that had made her blush so much he hardly knew. Maybe it didn’t matter to much, she’d been smiling all the same.

“So what did you think of the Chocolate Man? Pretty cool guy, right? That was the first time I’d ever met Dorian but I kinda liked him too. I don’t know what I was expecting him to be like or anything but, he was more...relaxed then I guess I thought he’d be. Ya know, the whole King thing and all? Lets see if we can get out of here without getting mobbed again.”

His gaze shifted from Abby then as they reached those gates, those….gate people (what else did you call them?) opening the gates for them then to let them step outside. The lateness of the hour seeming to have lessened the amount of photographers and yet Arlo was hardly willing to let them come back. The vampire reaching to take Abby’s hand and lead her hurriedly down the sidewalk before they realised anyone had come out. It looked like they might have made it, this time. Arlo glanced once more behind him before that realisation he was still holding the woman's hand seemed to strike him. The vampire releasing it gently, the same hand lifting to run through his hair almost nervously once more. It was alright to hold her hand wasn’t it? Maybe not yet. Maybe he had to broach that….dating thing first. He should have asked Seb what he was supposed to say! Although that seemed almost like cheating really. He had this. He totally had this.

His feet shifted on that sidewalk again, Arlo slowing his pace so Abby could walk comfortably beside him. That night air was almost refreshing really, the sun a few hours from rising still, plenty of time to walk her home. He could have teleported them both he supposed and yet that walk somehow gave him something to do, to distract himself with, while he struggled to put those thoughts in order. Several sentences running through his mind then. God he’d gone to long without talking, she was going to think he was upset or something. Say something, anything.

“I….ummm….did you….I mean…..can we talk for a minute? Like….maybe we should stop walking….I….you had a good time tonight didn’t you….with me? I mean...them too….but ...er...mostly me right?”

God he was bad at this. He could already see Seb facepalming. Arlo attempting that lopsided grin once more. The man inadvertently fiddling with that tie all over again in a clear anxiousness.
