However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

do you have to let it linger?50.125.73.209Posted On March 09, 2018 at 11:04 PM by abigail hughes

if these wings could fly for the rest of our lives
Abigail could hardly deny the nerves that so afflicted her as their gait slowly came to a standstill. It was decidedly silly for the young woman to imagine the absolute worst possible scenario and yet, truly, what could be so dreadfully important that they needed to be still while discussing it? Was Arlo done with their friendship? Were they about to 'break up'? Did he have cancer?! Was he dying?! Did he sleep with the sister she never knew she had?! Maybe she'd watched too many daytime dramas.Still, she could hardly help that fashion in which she so nibbled on her bottom lip in a small display of her own budding anxiety. Her hazel eyes watched as he ran his fingers through his hair in a glimpse of that stress that clearly afflicted him all the same. That ready assurance Arlo provided her caused her eyebrows to furrow ever so slightly and yet, she nodded in some visual effort to prompt the man onwards. At the very least, if he enjoyed her presence just as much….then maybe they weren't going to 'break up'? It was one less concern that weighed upon the girl as Arlo's words stumbled to that question which he clearly struggled with voicing.

That question to go out left the girl quite nearly dumbfounded, her hazel eyes simply left staring at her best friend for several blank moments. She was, after all, fairly certain that the pair went out rather often. They went to that bar and then there was the time they went to the ice skating rink and then they went to the Library and that had been fun. Didn't tonight also consider 'going out'? It wasn't staying in! That comment of already being out fell from her lips in a near baffled manner, that befuddled look upon Arlo’s features only furthering her own confusion. It took a moment, truly, for the meaning of that request to sink in for the girl, Abigail quite near pausing mid-sentence as the weight of that question fully struck her. That ‘ohhhhh’ served as a verbal indication of that metaphorical light bulb that went off over the poor girl’s head and yet, truly, she had never considered the possibility that Arlo might hold any interest in furthering their relationship beyond what it already was.

The vampire had quite near become her closest companion in those few short years they had befriended one another. He lingered upon her mind with such a ferocity, even though she made an effort to restrain her visits. He was the first individual she’d gotten close to since her mother’s death and her father’s descent into his own obsession with work. He was the first man she had ever found herself finding comfort into. Even that bemused grin that so crossed his features managed to coax a sort of warmth in her heart. Much less the fact of how handsome he was. He might not have held the same sort of painful breathtaking beauty that Dorian had as a King but the way Arlo looked at her sometimes had a habit of stealing her breath all the same. She hated to admit that simple fact that Dorian was right. She did love him, even if she tried to assure herself for so long that she did not if only for how impossible she was sure it was that he might ever feel the same way about her. After all, though he might have fallen from grace, he was a rockstar - a celebrity of sorts and she was certain that once he’d once again risen to fame, the poor man would be near drowning in offers from women far more….experienced than her.

Abigail hadn’t quite realized just how long she had been silent in those moments after and yet, she hardly bothered to stop him as Arlo continued on to reassure her it was perfectly okay to say no. It was sweet, really, that her denial of him might prompt the man to spend a whole day being moody over her. She was rather certain that no one had ever spent any great amount of time dwelling on her. Still, her simple lack of experience within this area resounded so heavily upon the girl’s mind. Even despite how he tried to make light of that situation, Abigail found herself almost…anxious to admit the truth of her dating history to him. That small shrug quite nearly caught her off guard. He…knew? How did he know? And yet, even in spite of knowing, he still asked her all the same? For some reason, she found that near…terrifying. “I….I guess…” The girl hesitantly uttered. Abigail had never been all that good at remaining composed in the face of the unknown. She could handle new situations if she knew what to expect and yet, this was such uncharted territory that the girl was certain she would be less than stellar at such intimacy.

Her gaze shifted the floor in an almost self-conscious fashion before that single inquiry fell from her lips, the one that was perhaps most important of all. She hardly wanted to lose Arlo, particularly if he found himself unhappy with her as a…as a….a…girl…fri - nope, she couldn’t even think that word. Her cheeks flushed a soft hue of pink as her name left his lips, his head brushed against her chin and yet, Abigail hardly fought him as he forced her head upwards and those hazel eyes upon him. That promise he offered her in that singular moment meant far more than she suspected he might ever truly understand, that grin on his own features prompted a small simper on her lips. It was those very words she had truly needed to hear to soothe her own concerns. Her hazel eyes hardly left him as the man continued on, clearly attempting to make her feel better as he jested of her leaving him in favor of other instruments - as if that clearly was why she was even considering dating him in the first place. Still, the idea of a tuba brought a gentle giggle to the girl’s lips.

“You’re in luck. I only know a guitar player and a piano player and the pianist is getting married.” She retorted, that sensation of giddiness all but filling her at that moment. That question for clarification, however, prompted a small nod from her. “Yes….I think so. Yes.” She offered, hesitating only to make an effort to try again. Yes. She was going to be Arlo’s alone! Tonight did not end at all how she thought it would. What did they do now? Did this mean she was allowed to hug him?
