    Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. Although these houses are somewhat small (often two to three bedrooms) they feature back yards, porches, garages and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and for the neighborhood as a whole.

    Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawethorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three story townhouses, often with a one to two car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces.

Hold on to this lullaby; even when the music's gone

She grins at his mention of his brothers, “Your mother must like the letter J a ton, my mother favored C, dunno why,” she says it with a shrug. “I don’t know what I’d do with all brothers, three is enough,” She says it with a smile again and she pushes away from the counter and taking her empty plate and utensils with her to the sink where she promptly began to wash it as if she’d done it hundreds of times before.

“I should check on my stuff,” She murmurs, talking about her family caused an ache to form in her chest and it constricted painfully. She exits the room and makes her way back down the hallway to the bathroom where her clothing had dried considerably in the time they had been talking and eating. She flips the order of the shirts, putting hers on and then his over it as an extra layer before pulling her hair back and twisting it into a knot at the nape of her neck.

“Do you think you—maybe—could walk me back to where I am staying? You can bring that with you,”

She says as she lingers in the hallway near the door and gestured at the glass of amber liquid. She’d remembered the way back, she’d run around all night that she had gotten turned around but after looking out the windows near the front door she was sure she could navigate back. She waits for his affirmative before turning and twisting the knob of the front door and exiting.

She is silent as they walk, not even making a sound when small slivers of ice wind their way between the sensitive parts of her toes. She is full and content and she wraps her arms across her chest to preserve some more of the heat, she makes a few turns then and after stopping in front of a darkened house she pauses for a moment. “This way,” She says and tilts her head to motion him around the side and towards the back door.

She doesn’t reach for the door handle, instead she is placing her palm flat against the window pane and giving it a soft push to slide it further open. Using her hands, she pulls herself over the trash cans and headfirst through the window. All was still silent as she made her entrance and breathing a sigh of relief she unlocks the door and pulls it open.

“This way,” She half-whispers and tugged him inside and towards the kitchen and gestures towards one of the chairs. Her hair had come loose in her dive through the window and it swung forward to frame her features and she couldn’t help but notice that she smelled like him, the scent of his shampoo clung to her and the shirt held his unmistakable scent. She found she rather liked it.

As if it were the most normal thing in the world, (which for her it was) she took out a baking sheet and while he was watching she proceeded to pull out the chocolate chip cookie dough and place it evenly on the sheet before shoving it in the oven. She didn’t set a timer, just pulled herself on top of the counter to sit and with a sheepish glance at him she said, “thanks for…dinner.”
