East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Tonight was a very special night for one particular vampiric girl - though she did quite like the notion that maybe, somewhere within this sprawling city, someone was awaking from their daytime slumber with maybe just a tinge of excitement that she too held for tonight. It was a silly wish, Chizue knew that but somehow, it had made the aspect of preparing on this solitary venture that much more bearable - to have some imaginary stranger she might be destined to meet. Chizue had, naturally, asked her new found roommate to accompany her tonight but with the tavern and the coven and their possible newest addition, Isolt had been far too busy to simply drop everything for a whim and so, in turn, Chizue had said nothing of the importance of tonight or what her adventure entailed, merely instead wishing her the best of luck and seeing her friend off with a small hug and some encouraging words. After all, that was what friends did, right? But now then - back to tonight. Tonight was special and so, in turn, Chizue had decided that despite how silly it was, maybe, she too deserved a chance to feel just a little special. Even if it was just for her imaginary friend across town who was likely too baffled by the same conundrum of what to wear on a night like tonight.

Chizue had pushed back her waitressing outfit Isolt had provided her, and past the shirts and skirts and pants that made up the most of her wardrobe to one singular dress in the very back of her closet. It was, by far, the prettiest piece of clothing that she owned anymore and that surely made it worth tonight's event. The dress seemed simple at first - a simple black mini dress that hugged tightly to the Asian girl's tiny frame. But it was the accompanying layer of sheer fabric on top that made it far more astounding to Chizue. Upon that small mini dress the girl donned a sheer layer of black that hung all the way down to her ankles. The fabric was dotted with tiny chrysanthemum's up and along to her waist. It was perfect, Chizue had decided as she looked at herself in the mirror, pausing only for a second before, in a rush of undeniable excitement, the young girl stepped onto the darkened streets of the spiraling metropolis.

Tonight, you see, was Chizue's birthday. If she was still mortal, she would be turning twenty-six today. If she was still mortal she would have been married by now...or contemplating her life as a terrible unwed "left over" - but she had hoped her mortal life would have been more positive than that. Either way, not only was today her birthday but today was the Dragon Boat festival in Chinatown. It wasn't quite her native country but it was the closest she could get to the world she left behind and so, Chizue was absolutely determined to make it work. She rushed down the streets of the city and slowly, a mesh of those eastern cultures begun to splash across the streets of Sacrosanct the closer she got to china town. Paper lanterns were hung from storefronts and across the streets, vendors were open with festival foods and selling mochi balls and distantly she could hear the parade with their fantastic paper dragons heading down the streets. It was all utterly fantastic and soon enough, the oriental vampire stood in the midst of it all. She wandered down the busy streets, taking in all the sights with her mouth parted ever so slightly in awe. It was nearly too much for the girl to take in, enough so that poor Chizue wasn't entirely looking quite where she was going...
