East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I got a random tip that there was a lot of supernatural activity in this town so I decided to check it out. I still do a lot of side work for the Dark Hunter Council when I need something to do. It's not like I need the money. I've had almost a century to gain my fortune and I've got the discreet number of bank accounts offshore to prove it. The interest just keeps gaining and I never want for anything but I don't show my wealth either. I like to live simple, usually a sleazy hotel room here and then and I pay for cash with everything so it's harder to track. Sometimes I use alias names to really throw anyone off that might be following me but I got the last trackers off me back around Sacromento California so I think I've seen the last of them.

Now that I'm here, I need to start somewhere and it just so happens that a flashy neon sign with a woman's silhouette is just the way to get my attention. So I pull into The Cat's Meow and decide to check it out. Who knows? Maybe I'll find out something useful here. I'm rather proud of my 67' Impala, my baby by all accounts. I've completely restored her and I take her everywhere. I don't care how many motors I have to put into her; she's worth every penny.

I pull my leather jacket a little closer around me as I step in the doors, for appearance more than anything. I've kind of gotten used to the gestures needed to appear human over time and besides, shifting my shoulders every so often reminds me of the hidden wings I have just behind my shoulder blades. Glancing toward the stage, I raise a single brow in appreciation of the entertainment for the night before the bar. "Whiskey sour please." I say as I put my hand on the bar. The guy gives me a gruff look but slides it across to me and I take a sip, sighing through the burn as I head closer to the stage.

The pretty brunette is almost done with her set but it looks like the night is just getting started for this place. I watch the prop masters behind the scenes already setting up a different scene, my gaze roaming over the rest of the clientele by habit more than anything else. I always like to know the kinds of people I'm surrounded by.
