East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She was exhausted.

Miyako had arrived only hours before in a U-Haul truck and moved almost all her things in by herself. Luckily a passerby had decided to do their good deed for the day and lend a hand, Mi was certain she was going to topple over carrying that large box by herself. Wincing at the memory, she felt guilty that the woman had to offer her help but the woman was deeply grateful. Dusting her hands off on her pants, she cocks a hip and folds her arms across her chest as she inspects the boxes. Releasing a heavy exhale, she eyes the worn couch, that had already furnished the apartment, wanting to lay down and sleep.

Mi itches to collapse on the sofa but instead makes the most of the setting sun's light and moves through the aisles of boxes. Finding her kitchenware, she begins the task of unwrapping and finding proper storage for each and every item. The woman is finds herself surprised that there is little to nothing in the house, Miyako knew very well there was another tenant living in the apartment as the landlord had set up the interview. She also found it strange that she had yet to meet her roommate, Mi certainly hoped that she had managed to acquire a normal roommate. The landlord had mentioned that "the other tenant works at night" and Mi found that perfectly normal, the city of Sacrosanct was fairly large and there would be all sorts of different jobs for the city folk.

Shrugging away the thoughts, she assumes that her new roommate is out on the town, considering it was a Friday night. Stretching her arms over her head, she finishes placing all of her equipment in the desired location and moves onto the forgotten groceries on the counter. Frowning at her own forgetfulness, she gathers the food up in her arms and uses her barefoot to open the fridge door. Pausing, she bends over to inspect the contents of the cooler, her frown only deepening more, "Do I even have a roommate?" she mumbles to herself finding the fridge to be completely empty. Brushing away the bizarreness she finished quickly before standing up straight, her lips parting in a yawn.

It had been a long day and she was ready for bed but as she turns around she simply sighs at the boxes still littered about the living area. Steeling herself, she moves on to the next set of boxes set aside for her room. The apartment had two bedrooms and as the other door was shut, she could only assume the open door to the empty room belonged to her. Sliding the boxes across the floor she piles them along the wall before pushing the mattress and box spring into the room. Quickly she assembles her room, making her bed and discarding the empty boxes near the door. Deciding she would finish her unpacking in the morning, Mi makes her way to the kitchen, rummaging through the cupboards for glass.

Filling it up with water on the door of the fridge, she turns and leans against the cooler inspecting her new apartment. This would now until she finished graduate school. Smiling to herself, she sips on the cool water enjoying the utter silence of the house.
