East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

It was only after darkness had fallen that the man finds himself stirring at last. His body so seeming to know, somehow, once that sun had finally gone down and those last burning rays had given way to the blanket of night he was so enslaved too. He was stiff- but he always was when he first woke. His limbs seeming to forget how to move in those sleeping hours. His body so forced die over and over again each morning. He rolled onto his stomach, sleep gripping him still as he made a point to slowly stretch each limb and muscle until some sensation had returned to it. He felt cold. Horribly cold even despite those layers of blankets. The blood from last night's meal still rested within him to an extent and yet it had weakened and cooled and been used up by his ever-thirsty form. Affording him no warmth any longer and returning his skin to that cold, lifeless state even despite the animation he still maintained by a magic he simply didn't care to query. He shifted at last to roll from that bad, stumbling into that ensuite to run the shower. God how he liked that warmth! Even if only for the feeling of life it gave him. Heating his skin and affording at least some measure of colour to him. Arlo content to stand beneath it for a good ten minutes or so until he felt awake enough to turn it off and wander to the wardrobe, pulling on those old jeans and shirt, his infamous black hooded jacket pulled over the top a moment later and yet he made no effort to conceal his features as he normally did. What need was there in his own home?

The scent of.....human was decidedly strong this morning. A part of the predator drawn to that soft heartbeat he could hear even now and yet that was not truly unusual. This whole apartment building smelled of human and witch or Were. To pick up upon the heartbeats of his neighbours was not unusual and as such he paid it little heed as he moved to open his door, one hand running through that near-black hair as if to shake those remaining drops of water from it, bare feet padding across the floorboards. The young man headed for the couch, passing straight by the slender young woman leaning against the fridge entirely without notice, only to collide with a cardboard box as he did. Arlo stumbling a moment, those striking azure eyes widening as he was fully shaken from that clinging lethargy now to glace down at that box....and the several other boxes piled against the wall. Had he stolen boxes last night and not remembered? It had happened only once before. His first and last time feeding from a 'high' victim. Those effects so having passed to Arlo himself and yet he was sure his meal last night had been sober. Maybe his Little Bear had brought them and yet this seemed a substantial effort for a Panda lacking opposable thumbs.

It was a soft sound from behind him that saw the vampire suddenly pivot, eyeing that young woman now whom leaned against his fridge and clutching a glass of water. Well that was new. For a moment or so Arlo simply continues to frown, his features knotting softly in a clear effort to attempt to understand his predicament but his shoulders simply lift in a shrug- as if he had simply come to accept her presence entirely in those moments. A slightly lopsided grin tugging suddenly at his features in a manner almost boyish.

"You know, I'd accuse of you breaking in but I've never seen anyone break in with every item they own before. Usually people steal stuff when they break and enter- not bring more stuff- so I'm going to assume that's not what happened."

That soft sound of amusement rose within his throat once more, Arlo moving to fold his arms across his chest, half leaning, half sitting upon the back of that worn couch now with a truly laconic ease he regarded her once more. She was definitely human, he could smell her readily, her heart fluttering about in his chest in a way that was almost appealing. At least, it so spoke to that instinctive part of himself that he was loath to ever embrace. The vampire hurriedly pushing such contemplation away.

"Did you like....move in when I was sleeping or something? I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to get notice before I get a roommate- although I guess that's what those could be."

One had waved vaguely towards the dining room table that was adorned with nothing less than a pile of unopened mail from the landlord that Arlo had clearly not opened, let alone answered for fear the man might be seeking that rent that was already a fortnight overdue. He almost had enough to cover it. Almost. If he had a good enough mark tonight he might well manage it yet. Although- his plans for tonight it seemed, had taken a rather abrupt turn in the shape of an Asian woman whom had taken up residence in his kitchen and so pilfered one off his glasses. A glass he is not sure he even remembered having. Arlo frowned slightly again. Pushing off the couch a moment later to stroll towards the woman, one hand reaching to pull out a draw only to find it...actually contained something. Both eyes rising slightly. Arlo turning back towards her now.

"You've been busy. I guess you can have the kitchen though, I mean, not like I use it right? What did you say your name was again?"
