East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The young Asian girl was altogether skeptical of this notion of dragons, altogether willing to test those waters in so challenging the man on their existence. She hardly expected that thought provoking statement he'd offered in return, her head momentarily tilting to the side as she paused to consider it. She supposed he had a point. For a while even her kind was but stuff of legends. Now, their existence was a bit more....accepted though even so society was only just beginning to come to terms with the existence of those not mortal. Who was she to say with such certainty that dragons had not too been a thing of lore long past? The girl nibbled on her bottom lip as she contemplated that very fact with rather complete seriousness before those chocolate eyes turned upwards towards the rugged man at her side. "I...I suppose you have a good point." She admitted, hardly unwilling to deny that perhaps he might be right in this. Still, even with such thoughts upon her mind, she could hardly help the way she so finished his sentence with one from the pages of a book whose title she'd long forgotten. That rich laughter only served to drag a warm simper to her features, entirely proud of herself for bringing the man a hint of joy.

The girl's observation of his hunger, however, and her own stammered attempt to explain her rather acute study of him resulted within the man pulling his hand away from her. That simple gesture caused a new bout of anxiety within her, filling her with a concern that she had done something wrong. The words he offered her, however, only prompted her eyebrows to furrow ever so slightly. Please herself? The notion alone was....inquisitive to her. After all, that society she had grown up within was strikingly different from the western world, utterly demanding all of it's residents to put others before at all costs. Regardless, she found herself nodding all the same for the simple sake of being agreeable, even as he led her towards the food vendors, his attention vastly more focused upon his hunger then he had attempted to let on. Chizue was certainly aware of this, to that point that the first glimpse of a soul she was sure he would like resulted in the young woman nearly dragging the man away from that skewered meat in chase of that fleeting aura of color.

She stopped quite abruptly, her hand raising to point to the blonde girl across the street as she informed the man that she would make a splendid meal for the vampire, her hands disentangling from the man's arm in the process. Her chocolate eyes turned towards the man at her side, simply watching him as he fidgeted, her own eyebrows furrowing once again. Did she...do something wrong? That explanation he provided her slowly saw her head bob in understanding. It was a relief, really, that he only sought blood from sources who were entirely willing and yet, in this, Chizue was wholly confident. "She will ask you tonight." She responded quite firmly, as if there was little room for challenge. All that strange woman needed, she was sure, was but a bit of flirting. It was an act Malek seemed quite familiar with. She was sure they'd have a good time and yet, before her thoughts could continue down that rabbit hole, Chizue found her hand caught firmly by his.

Her gaze turned questioningly towards the man, entirely caught off guard by the sensation of his lips gingerly brushing across the flesh of the back of her hand. In truth, she was entirely unsure of what to do with such a gesture, or what had prompted it in the first place, much less what it meant. Those words that left his lips in the wake of such a gesture stunned the girl, her mouth parted to offer something in return only to find not a syllable left her lips. Her cheeks were flushed pink at the notion, regardless of whether or not he meant it and yet, eventually she found her voice enough to utter, very quietly, "Th...Thank you."
