East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The raven haired woman often spoke in riddles and contradictions simply for the mere satisfaction of just to play. She was made of what fear was made of, as though hell flowed through her veins. "Please, you are old enough to know better than that. Besides, you don't look old so what is and what appears to be is quite the contradiction, old man." So very much like herself and her precious illusions. Oh she wraps them around herself like a cloak; it felt like silk on bare flesh whenever she used it, like the careful art of seduction. Its magical presence sparks within her like an electrical current, it licks at her coldness. She is a storm encased within oh so alluring flesh. The spark entices her to sprout forth its magic to stain the already marred world with her will and her will alone. The vampire woman could conjure and manipulate anything to be and in truth she could clear this bar in a matter of minutes but where would the fun be in that? Just knowing what she could do and choosing not to do it was in itself power.

Petra merely grasps onto that power. She suppresses it within her ribcage and oh how it clatters upon her ancient bones like a devilish beast in a feeble birdcage that would never hold. It was not long for the woman went without her illusions, even if it were something as subtle as a trick of the eye, a flash of something strange and unexplainable.

He wouldn't choose any? Hm, well she couldn't blame him, the selection in the pulsing bar was rather one dimensional. But his next words fall from his lips and this truly surprised her. A vampire that chose to not feed from their main food source was like a fish that would refuse water. Her parted mouth then transformed into a grin before she laughs as genuine as she is capable. Surely he was taking part in light hearted humour, only when he continued on did she realise he was entirely sincere. Her laughter was stifled and cast an incredulous gaze in his direction.

"Why?" she asked pointedly, pale eyes glitter with twisted amusement, as if he became a rare and mystical, but so very vulnerable. "Why stifle what you are and be a weaker version of what you can be?" Weakness within the community of apex predators was like fresh blood in shark infested waters. She pivots on that stool to completely face him now; he starved himself, for what purpose? The female temptress would never understand why anyone would choose to starve their potential for what she could only imagine to be some moral high ground. He seems rather genial in the way that he spoke and laid back smile. He hardly seemed like a predator, wound up tight and ready to strike at no moments notice.

She returns to her previous position as she views him in her peripherals. "It is not just a meal, it is the challenge I crave. The humans that would not just whore their throats just for a bite, like a common junkie wanting one more hit. Not even a cow to be slaughtered does that. I select them, not the other way around. We are the top of the food chain, don't you remember? Or do the rats cloud your memory, hm?" Or maybe he was getting senile in his old age? A devilish twitch of her lips, oh so curious if she would spark anger within the old vampire sitting next to her. She can't help but wonder if he would honour the animal he drank from. Suddenly with a convulsion of her power, a rat scurries just below him, surely he would feel its feet pitter-pattering or it nibbling subtly at the wood chair.

He was certainly perceptive she would give him that but she ignores his comment. His next words however, peak her oh so fickle attention. Her eyes grew dark, her head tilts. "Well then. How do you propose we do that?" She brings the drink to her lips once more, it was decent but it would certainly taste better mixed with some top shelf blood.
