East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She can feel her brows being drawn into another furrow, a hand firmly planted on her hip as she frowns at his rather ungratefulness that she had paid his half of the rent, "You could be a little more grateful you know," she mutters but lets the issue drop. Typical guy, she supposed, though she had never lived with another male before, she could only assume they were all like this with their lax attitudes and irresponsibility. Miyako was already finding that this might be harder than she initially thought, she didn't have time to take care of someone else while she was attempting to graduate with her doctorate's this year.

After she slices her finger on the glass and finishes cleaning herself up, she watches warily as Arlo stares hard at the city below, he looked almost sick and when she pats him on the shoulder and shows him her bandaged finger she's greatly relieved he no longer looks like he's going to puke. Not that she was opposed to cleaning up bodily fluids, it wouldn't be the first time and it surely wouldn't be the last, she just hoped she wouldn't have to do it in her own home. Offering him a tentative smile, she folds her hands behind her back to hide her bandaged finger from him.

As he continues to stand by the window, she takes a few steps back to give him space, the cold air wrapping about her small figure, bringing goosebumps to her bare arms. She resists the urge to rub at them, not wanting to rush Arlo before he can get himself under control. When he smiles at her weakly, she returns it briefly before launching herself into her tirade of rules, and when he questions it she simply nods at him before continuing on. Miyako needed to set boundaries now thinking that if she waits she would never be able to enforce them properly. It was somewhat like she was staking a claim to place, and in a sense, she was. The apartment was just as much as her home as it was his now.

Her brows furrow briefly as he starts to deny her cooking before continuing on and relaying to her that he had special dietary needs. Eyes lightening at the challenge, she grins at him broadly, "Oh! I like a challenge, just let me know what you can't eat and I'll do my best to make something. See, I really enjoy cooking and meal always tastes better when you share it with someone," she states happily, already forming menus in her mind on what he would and wouldn't like. I mean, he was a boy, and boys ate a lot, right?

When another pet name rolls casually off his tongue at her, she frowns at him again. She would let it slide this time, though, Miyako didn't think she would be getting used to it any time soon. Placing her slender hand on her hip again, she regards him with narrowed eyes. Boys. "Well, I don't think I can justify letting my half of the rent be late if I have the money," she shrugs at him, "That's something I don't feel good about doing, so I'll pay my half on time at the very least. Plus, now that I live here your rent will be half of what you're paying," she points out, wondering what exactly he did for a living.

"That must be hard not knowing if you're going to have enough money to pay rent," she pauses, before dropping her hand by her side, "If you do ever need a loan, let me know. I can't do it all the time but I can help here and there if you're in desperate need," she offers, not sure how she feels about giving him that option, suddenly worried he would take advantage of her, "Just so you know, I'll know if you are trying to cheat me," she adds quickly, her slanted eyes taking a narrowed look again.

Miyako is rather thankful when the subject is changed from money to the boxes at hand. Glancing around the room, she eyes the many unopened boxes and she gives a small shrug, "I was going to finish it in the morning, but if you're offering we could do it now, it would make me feel less stressed if I could get this done before I start my internship tomorrow," she muses allowed before turning back to Arlo. "Yeah, I should be graduating with my doctorate's this year if everything goes according to plan," she smiles softly to herself happy to see the end of the road.

Kneeling down by the nearest box, she opens it and begins rummaging through it, removing several blankets and knickknacks, placing them on the ground. "I was planning on buying some more furniture, do you have a preference at all?" she offers, turning to look at the dark-haired boy besides her. She didn't expect him to have a care in the world but since they were officially roommates she figured she'd, at the very least, give him an option to pick. "If you want, I have time before my internship tomorrow morning if you want to go with me," she again offers before returning to her work at hand.

It's only when he speaks again, does Mi snap her attention back towards him, that devilish grin playing on his lips. Cringing inwardly, she pauses in her work, "Er, I'm not really one for parties," she mentions before looking away from him. Living with a boy was going to be much, much harder than she thought. "Plus, I just moved here and don't know anyone except for you."
