East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Malek Ackerman

You're my water. You're my wine.

That giggle that so falls from her lips has Malek's own grin widening slightly. He wasn't entirely sure he could amuse the woman, and yet here she is, chuckling. Whether it was at him or his statements he didn't know, nor did her particularly care, he found he was rather enjoying himself. As she questions about peace, Malek gives a small shrug, his fingers toying with his glass of alcohol as he regards her openly, "There are some places in the world that still have that peace, peace that has lasted for centuries. It is possible, I've seen it as long as whoever is trying to create it isn't using that treaty to hide their own agenda. I find that humans, and our species for that matter, tend to find pleasure in power. Why, I have no idea. Having that power is a set of shackles, there is no running from it," he finishes, his fingers still dancing about his empty glass, his memories turned inward at all those centuries ago.

His explanations tended to be heavy but he didn't think the woman minded all that much, she was still here, chatting with him. But the conversation takes a bit of a light-hearted turn, perhaps they didn't need to be talking about such a dense topic. His lips quirk up into a smile at her take on humans, he found that his kind either tolerated humans or despised them, they were nothing but a food source to most of his species. He doesn't comment on her take and instead offers her that boyish smile, his fingers lifting up to scratch at his beard. Another quirked smile is offered at her words as he leans forward, slowly beginning to invade the woman's space, "Ah, but dreams are what makes this world go round," he raises his brow in amusement before falling back into his seat.

A bellowing laugh is echoing around the bar as she teases him, a touch of surprise dancing in his eyes at her sudden charm. Shaking his head, his laughter fades, his eyes bright with amusement as he watches the dark-haired woman. "You caught me," he chuckles again his hand finally dropping away from that empty glass. "Hmmm, I can't say I've intentionally hunted were-creatures, I suppose if they were bunnies I wouldn't particularly care," he lifts his hand in an airy gesture, his words coated with teasing. Not entirely true, but she didn't need to know that.

As their food topic takes a sudden turn towards vampires, he leans forward again, his elbows resting on his knees, eyes lighting up. He looked no better than a boy learning something new in a classroom. "Yes, yes, fascinating wouldn't you say? These vampires don't get the nutrients they need from humans, our blood," he pauses gesturing to his body, "holds something not found in humans. Though, it's not our blood that runs through our veins, our bodies do something to it. I would love to study it more," he muses, remembering Arlo and how couldn't stomach even an animal. Laughing at her comment, he shrugs, not bothering to remove himself from her space, he felt she would leave if she thought he was too invading.

"I can't say I've ever fed off our own species," his comment rings truthfully, he had never felt comfortable to bite his fellow vampires, it was indeed... personal. When she orders another round, Malek's eyes flick up in surprise, perhaps there was hope for her yet and her alcohol tastes. Grinning at her he states that he had eaten before he had come and he can't help but laugh at her expression. The woman couldn't entirely tell if he was joking or not. That sudden shift in magic has his steely eyes darting downward as that rabbit so nibbles on his boots. Another round of laughter is offered up, "Perhaps I will get hungry now that you're tempting me with my favorite."

"Of course, one of a kind. I can't imagine you'll find another vampire like me," he chuckles at her, leaning back just as their refills arrive. He's starting to reach for it until that bra simply lands in his lap, his fingers grasping onto that lacy material as his eyes search for the naked woman in the crowd. How crude. Tossing the bra to the floor, he watches as Petra so commands him, the woman beginning to scream and claw at her body as if there was something crawling along it. Furrowing his brows at the entire moment, a smile quirks at the corner of his lips before he turns back to Petra. "I very much doubt she will find herself topless in a bar anytime soon," he laughs before the woman claims his attention again.

He doesn't hesitate as she questions him, he merely ponders how much information he wants to give. "I'll admit, I didn't always have a specialty diet. I murdered, drank from humans when I wasn't hungry, played my own games and fucked my way through the first two centuries of my existence. That simply isn't who I am anymore, I just realized there was more than yielding to my baser side."

You're my whiskey. From time to time.
