East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Tear down the planes of this sick reality;

Posted on October 22, 2017 by Petra Ambrose

How easy it is to play this precarious and twisted game she pursues. She was all trick and treat and it was only a matter of time that she would unleash it upon him. All the gears were set in motion. She concocts her masterpiece, a scene not so terribly different than the one that was real. But that was how you made a convincing illusion, playing on the smallest of details. Tweaking reality to her own selfish whim just enough to make it believable. With the carefully placed mind tricks throughout their entire meeting she knew she was in his head. The trickster weaved her web with meticulous precision, if her victim was suspicious he did not let on.

There was a moment where she believed Malek might wise up to her antics. Might deny her illusions despite how real they felt. Her face remains that eerie calm, a small twist of a piercing smile lighting up her features to give into the charade she conducts. She dances her convoluted marionette dance, pulling all the strings. It wasn't that she disliked Malek. She just wanted to see him, the true him, not some carefully self-constructed creature he tried to be. It wasn't personal and more so, she took the chance because she could. There was a part of her, deep down that wanted to get caught at her own twisted game. Yet, Malek was a good man, too good. His nature was perhaps even virtuous, wanting to believe the good in people and the world at large. A hope in her that had been extinguished for a long time, like a fragile flame without oxygen.

Petra enjoyed pressing buttons, figuring out how people worked so she could break and bend things that were never meant to. There was a thought, a glimpse of a thought that if she worked her magic on Malek, than maybe just maybe she could pluck at those morality strings just a bit. Just how strong was he truly if the carefully crafted dam shattered? She knew there was something dark within that ancient vampire and she wanted nothing more to play with that supressed darkness. Dance around in those dangerous shades that their kind possessed.

Hesitation, long enough you could taste it filled the air around them as he peered at her, as if trying to strip her of her insincerity. A calm half smile etched upon his face. What a miraculous poker face. She smiles easily back at him, as if she actually pulled a rabbit out of her hat for him to snack on, that it was entirely normal. Surely something was amiss, a vital puzzle piece missing but he foolishly put that ounce of trust in her. Or perhaps it is that he secretly wanted to strip off his skin and free the part that lived without those constricting limits. The raven-haired vampire was sure that all that Malek needed was a little push, just a little nudge in the direction that went against everything he currently stood for. Slowly, excruciatingly so, he gives into that curiosity and he sinks his teeth into the rabbit she created as an illusion of what he was actually biting into.

If only it was a rabbit, than this story would have ended a lot differently. But where was the fun in that?

He guzzled down that lifeblood of the human female she snagged, using her illusions to hide her away, until now. Until this moment that she slowly let her illusions fade. He drank deep and hard like a drowning man gasping for air, someone who had been denied sustenance for too long. The illusion of the innocent rabbit melted into its true shape of a human. Yet he doesn't stop.

So many years he had chosen to not to drink from humans and all it took was Petra to alter his reality a bit, to be that undoing. That fake plastered smile upon Petra's face turned into something real, the dark edge of her sinister intent filled her with anticipation. What he would be like was entirely unknown now that she unleashed him. The anticipation boils within her, curiosity of the aftermath of her trickery in the forefront of her mind. She heard a moan of pleasure escape him as the once gentleman was gone and turned into something far more feral, far more like the vampire he truly was.

A smug, pleased look flickered behind her two-toned eyes. The pale sea green in her eyes glowing slightly as her own hunger rose to the surface, almost breaking her fixated concentration. She was disciplined in her illusions, biding her time as she waits for this new unlocked chamber of Malek. She lets her fingers run idly through his long brown locks as he fed. He seemed utterly savage as he sinks his teeth again and again, finding better placement at her neck to garner every last drop the petite woman had.

"Much better than farm animals, hm?" That nightingale sing-song voice coos to him. She didn't expect an answer, already knowing that his pleasure receptors must have flared to life as he savours that warm delicacy of the woman's blood. It wouldn't be long until she ran dry. Petra wanted nothing more than to join him, to share in that succulent morsel and yet.. she allows him this treat all to himself. How long has it truly been since the put together Malek let go? How long has it been since he allowed himself the pleasure of what they were destined to drink? He denied himself for so long and it wasn't difficult to set him off.

Petra conceals them from prying eyes, enshrouding them in what seems like shadow. She couldn't have panic break out.. No, not yet. They were just getting started. She watches how he savours his meal, like a newborn vampire filled with longing thirst. In a way she envies him in that moment. A languid chuckle escapes her, hot like the blood that filled his greedy maw. He is like a ferocious tiger hovering possessively over his prey while he fed. What probably felt like an eternity for him were only mere moments for her. She remains poised and patient with him until he comes out of his trance.

Finally it was time to meet the real Malek.

One moment he was relishing in his kill, the woman most likely gone cold from the lack of blood that filled the husk of what she once was. There was something chilling in those eyes unseeing from the corpse as they seemed to peer at her in silent question. Her once beautiful full face sallow and sunken. Petra felt nothing as she peered down upon the dead human. However, it was only for a moment because, Malek moved unpredictably, using that impressive vampyric speed to move to her. He was faster than her so it was no surprise that she was not braced for his assault, that was not an assault at all. She expected to be met with a snarling predator with so much potential for unrelenting violence. How strange it was to the unexpecting Petra to be met with dangerous salacious lust. How long it was since a man held her this way and not looking at her in fear. How strange it felt to feel so small against the larger vampire. She could have slipped away from him and she doesn't.

For a moment she is caught off guard, unprepared of this brand of hunger. He shoved her against the concrete wall, pinning her in place with his hips pressed against hers in a dominant way that sparked something in those emotionless depths of eyes. He seemed entirely wild, driven by impulse, so very different from the man she met in that bar. His hands find either side of her head. For someone so powerful she felt so petite next to him, as though his form could engulf her. She peers up the wildness she unleashed within him, peering at the appetizing bloodied face that loomed so very close to hers. Blood trickled through his beard, his lips glistening that enticing scarlet. He smelled of fresh blood and death, an intoxicating perfume to the still hungry Petra.

He leans even closer as anticipation builds. If her heart still beat it would probably hammer within her chest, what an usual feeling indeed. A seductive purr escapes his bloodied lips, his grin that could only be described as deviously sensual. How aware she was of him in that very moment, wondering whose web was caught in whose. She allowed her stray hand run through the thick locks of the back of head as though she could take back control. He finally spoke her language. "I like the sound of that." She coos, leaning into his closeness and pulling him in, enough to brush her lips against his for a moment to indulge in the blood smattered across his lips, allowing her tongue to steal a taste of the tantalizing fresh still warm blood that dripped from his mouth. She wanted more, the predator within her boiled to the surface as the hunger taunts her, feeling her with a sick delight.

"Now, what do you say we paint the town red? I am famished and it appears you don't like sharing." That nightingale voice slips from her easily. Her hungry green-blue eyes peer at the corpse of the woman slumped partially up the wall. There was many humans within that bar and just as many scattered about the city. How easy it would be to let that blood flow readily. She licked her lips that possessed the blood from his feeding. With only but a taste, she wanted more.

There was a club just mere steps away that could prove to be a source of entertainment.
