East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

East

Per the norm as of late, the man had found it difficult to settle himself into the new townhouse that he and his little sister had moved into. One would think that there wasn't anything at home he could be tending to, like chores and other responsible adult things that he was accustomed to doing ever since... well, ever since he'd had to make a promise to his parents that he would look after and protect Elain. He'd been young then, only by a few years compared to this present autumn evening but all the same he'd been thrust into the role of guardianship when he was hardly able to keep his own self in check at times. Sure, there was some laundry to do yet as sexist as this may or may not come off, Lazarus considered his little sister to be far better than him when it came to tidying and cleaning and things. It was a plain and simple truth, so as with everything outside he and his sister, the dark hunter couldn't possibly care less what the world might this of such opinions he stubbornly decided were no one's business aside from his own. Such a caring and concerned individual, isn't he? In all honestly, Lazarus wasn't as much of an a**hole as he gave the impression of... sometimes. Some might say it was his contentment with people back home having given him a wide berth when he was walking down the street with that fierce look in those forest green eyes hidden more often than not behind those black aviators, black jacket zipped three quarters of the way up and hood draped over messy caramel colored locks as it cast a shadow over his chiseled face. There was nothing about the man that emitted an air of "warm of fuzzy". He hated warm and fuzzy.

As he sits in the leather chair placed strategically in the living room of the townhouse, scuffed skater shoes lifted up onto the Ottoman in front of him and arms rested comfortably on the rests, he cranes his neck to look at the clock. The sun was beginning to set, and the time read 5:48pm. There were still a number of hours left before his little sister would return from the college on near the southern part of Sacrosanct, and while there were still boxes both downstairs and upstairs that he truly should be packing instead of sitting on his a**, he just didn't have the interest required to address the task at hand and after a few more contemplative moments, he lifts himself out of the chair, checking the pockets of faded and torn relaxed fit jeans the ensure his wallet and key were in their assigned places before moving to the front door and stepping outside into the chilled autumn evening. He needed something to do, someplace to be other than home alone with his thoughts. Turning his back to the busy sidewalk, he locks the door, casting a glance to both sides in case someone were watching him take his leave. Being what he was, what his father and forefathers had been, he'd always been taught to "feel" the area around him for anything that might be off. Straining his heightened senses and scanning the sidewalk of strangers passing by with his dark gaze narrowed as though he expected someone to lunge out at him, he is only satisfied when he can see no one looking his way. Throwing up his hood and placing those sunglasses upon his face, he descends down the three concrete stairs and decides to head to the east side of this hustle and bustle city. He'd found one little place to hunker down in last night and he was mildly curious what else he might find that could capture his intrigue. Hell, maybe he'd search out a decent restaurant that wasn't a strip club. Who knew what he might deem interesting.

After an unknown amount of time has passed and the sun continues to sink down in the surprisingly clear autumn sky, he comes to brick building tucked on the furthest outskirts of the east side of the city, it's large glass window illuminated by a warm light that just seemed to whisper enticingly to those walking by. With a fleeting glance inside, he can see the clean hardwood flooring and the polished cherrywood bar, the shelves behind it stocked to the brims with the many liquors and ales that he was sure he'd enjoy if he hadn't already tasted them upon his lips. A couple opens the door, taking their leave of the establishment and it is then that Lazarus tilts his gaze upwards to the sign that reads "Red on the Water". What is it with Sacrosanct and all these classy places? Giving an ever so slightly shrug of his shoulders, he reaches his hand out to the door handle and lets himself in and is welcomed by the smell of grilled and fried foods alike along with the hum of many voices from those that already either occupied a table or the many seats at the bar. Naturally, he moves over to the bar and sits there with arms crossed in front of him. The female bartender comes over to greet him with a honey-sweet smile."How can I help you?", she asks politely in a chiming sapreno voice, blonde hair cascading over her slender shoulders."Not sure yet. Do you have a food menu I can look at?", he replies cooly and she is quick to respond as she reached beneath the edge of the bar and pulls out a single page menu and walks away to let him scour the choices he had for entrées.

He takes his time looking over the items and as he does, another man comes to sit beside him. A fleeting side glance and Lazarus sees a well dressed guy in a black leather jacket, dark her well kept and naturally styled, a friendly smile upon his masculine features. Satisfied with his observation of who he now unfortunately shared space with, he goes back to looking over the menu. The woman goes over to the man and greets him as politely as she had the man in his hooded jacket and aviators, but the man's reply was definitely one of kinder and friendlier disposotion. There is a heavy accent in the man's voice and Lazarus can't help but register the man's name as Killian who proceeds to small talk with the bartender which causes an inward groan from the dark hunter simply for the fact that he found small talk painful - when it wasn't his idea, and nine times out of ten his type of small talk was reserved for single women be would try and pick up. The Irishman orders his drink and Lazarus almost dismisses him in attempt to drown out the rest of the noise when he hears the man beside him order a whisky on the rocks for the next individual that walked into the pub. For one reason or another, the dark hunter found that intriguing. Minutes pass and then the door opens to reveal a petite brunette in the doorway that nearly turns on her heels and prepared to punch out the bartender who attempt to subtly grab her attention.

Turning back to his menu yet keeping his peripheral vision very much on the woman as she approaches the bar, sits down on the other side of the Irishman, and proceeds to lean forward to sniff the drink before practically reeling backwards with nose wrinkled. This display almost had the dark hunter laughing out loud though he was more than capable of releasing no more than a wolfish smirk while keeping his head turned in towards the food menu he now no longer had interest in ordering from. Not that a pub style burger and fries didn't sound good enough to devour in this very moment, because it did and he would likely order one to go if he could. Instead he listens to the woman's words and now he can't refrain himself any longer, something within him always seeming to crave that feeling of friction and mischief."If you don't want it cutie, I'll be happy to take it off your hands. I never turn down a free drink". He doesn't turn away from the menu just yet as tenor tones speak up, lowering it to rest on the bar in front of him after he falls silent. Only then does he lean forward a little more, turning to face the Irishman and the brunette with that signature smirk of his playing devilishly across his features as he waits with hidden curiosity as to how the two would react to his sudden and less than polite interruption. If Elain were here with him now, there was little doubt in his mind that she'd be trying to make some excuse up for him while dragging him away before things could get any worse since that seemed to be the thing Lazarus encouraged in those around him that he enjoyed testing.
