East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

There was no denying that her big brother had been less than pleased with the circumstances that he'd found himself in. It wasn't as though the honey-blonde woman had gone out onto those downtown streets with the intention of trying to track the scent that had clung to him that night beneath all the alcohol and cigarette smoke when he returned that night with his hand on his chest and the smell of burnt skin hitting her sharpened senses. In all honesty, Elain was probably one of the least qualified individuals to have been made into a dark hunter, but that was part of the Daray family tradition, and she had done it to make her mother and father proud. They were both dark hunters after all, and while Lazarus more or less didn't have a say in the matter, the only heir to the Daray estate, Elain had had a choice in the matter. She'd made one that left both her parents a little surprised, if not concerned for the ordeal that the young woman would have to endure, but she was stronger than what so many people gave her credit for. She was alright with being underestimated, though. Especially since while she had taken on the dark hunter tradition, she'd quickly discovered that her supernatural ability was not meant for that gruesome and bloodied occupation. Sometimes, when she looked back on that drastic change in her life, she wondered if that had been fate's way of telling her that the path of a true dark hunter was not the one she was meant to follow. She'd wondered every now and again if the reason she'd been given that gift to heal which Lazarus always seemed insisted not to allow for her to use was for that very reason; to be there and help the man whenever he might come home with flesh wounds and bruises since it was his fate to be the very thing that their family was forged for.

It had not been in her intentions to run into Vhalla, who out of some wild twist of fate or bizarre turn of events just so happened to be the one to put the seemingly always grumpy man in his place â€" which so very few seemed to have the capabilities to do, so even just knowing that now made her appreciate the white-haired woman in an entirely different light â€" and bring her back to their place for dinner. Everything just sort of happened that way. But that was perhaps the best part of it all. Trying to plan each and every little step that one took in life just seemed to take the fun and the adventure out of everything, bled the colors out of the world. At least, that was the way that Elain saw it. Life had so much to offer, especially when it promised to be as long as her own and her brother's, but even then, there was still no telling when it all might be cut frightfully short, ending far sooner than it was supposed to. That was the driving force behind so much that the young woman did. So when she'd met Vhalla, and the white-haired woman had given Elain that small opportunity to befriend her, the younger woman had eagerly seized it as if her very life had depended on it. The last thing she would have ever thought was if Lazarus had or hadn't wronged this woman, and even if she'd caught that distinct yet faintly familiar scent of smoke off the woman that had mingled with the nasty stench of the booze and nicotine-made smoke, the friendly huntress still wouldn't have given it much thought. Her brother would just have to learn to deal with the fact that there was a clear bond between Vhalla and Elain that even she didn't quite understand fully, but it just felt right, and that had been more than enough for her.

She'd finished getting ready once she was certain that Lazarus was far enough away that the odds of him turning back and finding the honey-blonde woman dressed in those form-fitting faded blue jeans and satin emerald green low-cut blouse embroidered with glittering floral patterns running along the length of the v-neck collar were next to none. If he knew that she where it was that she was going and who she was going with, she was almost entirely certain that he would have stopped her. Possibly locked her in her own bedroom or the bathroom. She knew that his intentions were only ever good, but there were times where she just needed to take that risk, be bold and daring. Like Vee. She was beautiful and strong and fierce, so many things that Elain wasn't, but that was alright. As she's moving down the stairs, loud banging nearly shook those walls of the townhouse, following almost seconds after she could hear Vhal's voice through at the door. Hurrying over, she reaches for the knob and opens it only for the witch to shuffle into the living room, icy blue eyes glittering with amusement as she takes in the simple yet sexy sweater dress that clung to those womanly curves that surpassed Ellie's own and would surely make several women jealous wherever it was they were off to."I'm sorry, Vee. Maybe you should have worn warmer clothes. But that outfit is so perfect for you! And I love what you did with your hair", she teases playfully as she shuts the door behind Vhalla before offering that warm and genuine compliment. She hadn't done anything with her hair, never having really gone out like this before. For obvious reasons.

When the white-haired woman turns to face Elain, she is wearing a cool smile as she reaches into her pocket to reveal a fake ID, eyed glittering impishly as she walks over to where Vhalla sits and takes it into her hands, surprised at just how legitimate it looked."Impressive! How could I have ever doubted you?", she smiles cheekily back to the Vhalla as the woman beams back at her. Her friend stands then, asking if she was ready and Elain smiles eagerly."Can't wait! I should probably be back before midnight, though. In case Mr. Party Pooper shows up", she says as she happily links arms with Vhalla and they walk out onto the streets. She is reminded of that question she wanted to ask Vhalla, but she decides to hold off for now, waiting until they got into the bar or club or wherever her friend was taking her. When the woman complains about the cold again, this time Elain can't help the chiming laughter that falls from her lips."It is December, silly goose", she says impishly to her friend as they make their way towards the buildings that block the wind, honey-blonde hair no longer swirling around her shoulders as it was moments ago. Vhalla slows their pace until she's practically dragging Elain into the classy looking bar, the loud bass nearly shaking those walls as they move deeper into the dimly lit room after flashing their IDs to the large man at the entrance, remembering Vhal's advice to be confident.

Glacier blue eyes trying not to take everything in should someone decide she looked oddly out of place or something. When the witch turns to the huntress, beaming her another smile and reminding her of that piece of advice, Elain can't help but smile brightly back."This is so exciting! I've never done anything like this before", she says just loud enough for Vhalla to hear. They stop at the bar and when the bartender asks what they'd like, Vhalla orders a bourbon, something that Lazarus drank on occasion as she heard her order Elain a fruity drink and she wonders what that even means exactly. When Vhalla asks her what she thought, she smiles radiantly."It's really neat in here, actually! I didn't know that they could be this classy", she answers as she looks around, waiting for that drink. While they waited for the man to return, Elain remembers that question again."So hey, Lazarus has been acting a little weird... You wouldn't happen to have bumped into him again and kicked his ass somewhere, have you?", she asks curiously as a teasing note found its way into her voice, genuinely wondering if somehow the two had a strange habit of bumping into each other... unless maybe it was more than that and they were hiding it from the honey-blonde woman. The idea has her rather amused, trying to picture them as a couple and failing to. The bartender returns with a pink drink but she doesn't remove those icy blues from her friend as they sat there at the bar, not a soul seeming to pay the two women any mind at all.
