East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The Call Home ... The Tune In Our Hearts

Malia was certainly an interesting character to Killian. She asked many things that weren't asked by many people. Not unless they were sheltered, but she hardly seemed that since she was here in the pub and sharing a drink with a stranger.
Killian took notice of how she watched him tap the glass to show the bartender he wanted a refill. Could it of been that she wasn't too accustomed to the way he asked for a drink in a silent manner? Or maybe she was just used to talkers and was surprised. Killian wasn't about to ask for the sake of feeling like he would upset her.
Even though she seemed like a tough cookie. Killian would take another sip of his drink and turned back to Malia.
Her question left him slightly baffled. It was apparent she had no clue as to what homosexuality was. But she managed to explain incest right to the letter of the word.
He had to keep from spitting his drink, as he found a slight humor in all of this.

As he cleared his throat and calmed himself, he put an arm across the wooden surface and looked at Malia.
"No.. That's wha' is called incest.. Sleeping with your relatives and such. Homosexuality just means, you're attracted to males that you meet in the world, and or, you see on your tv, etc. I could explain this more, but I don't want to confuse ya too much."
Killian replied to her, as he lifted his glass in his hand and chuckled softly to himself.
He was starting to think Malia would be a great friend to have, and that maybe he could learn somethings from her, and vice versa.
It was now in this moment, that she seemed puzzled by the word lass. Asked if it was a pet name of sorts.
In all technical ways, it could be. But the way he was using? No. This was just a way of saying girl or miss, even madame, just in a way that the Irish say.

He took another deep breath and smiled at Malia.
"Lass is jus' a commonly used word we use back home. Think of it like how other people say girl, Miss or madame. That's essentially what that means... But it could be a pet name of sorts, so you weren't entirely wrong on tha'." Killian explained with a smile and a soft chuckle in his voice as he would sip from his drink, hoping he hadn't confused poor Malia in anyway. "Also, it's a pleasure to meet you as well."
