East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

There was just so much about Alexander that she didn't know and wish she did. She knew he was immortal so of course he should have children, grandchildren, anything and everything else out there. It only made sense. But she knew nothing of his relations with other people. To have a god son meant he was important to someone who had children. They knew him and respected him and wanted him to be a part of their son's life. She smiled at the very thought. He told her he had to go to his god son's wedding and she smiled. "I bet it was beautiful." She glanced out the window, wondering where it was. Was it an outdoor or an indoor ceremony? Were there lots of flowers and decor? She wondered if there were any pictures. She bet Alexander cleaned up really nice in a tux. She was glad he kept the radio volume low. She liked this, the whole talking and getting to know each other. He seemed more open tonight, more willing to share. Strangely, she wanted to milk it for all it's worth.

He didn't seem at all surprised that she'd never been overseas. He did look a little taken aback that it was forbidden to go on trains or planes or anything like that. He didn't know her father, though. And thankfully, he'd never have to. Then he asked her if she'd like to go and her eyes went wide. She was speechless for a minute, before she inhaled sharply and nodded. "Yes I mean, of course! I'd love to." She almost whispered the last part, her eyes filled with awe. Oh man, would she! She'd love to see the world and what the rest of it looked like. She could tell he was gentle hearted man, especially when it came to horses. It opened this whole other side of him to her and she really enjoyed it. It made him more human, more relatable. And he really seemed to care about the WereHorses his cavalry was using. He mused about someone not liking his ideas for the future and she couldn't help but reassure him, wanting him to know her feelings wouldn't change.

He gave her a warm smile that made her heart feel ready to burst out of her chest before he said thank you and that at least he would have her. She could only smile in response, hoping she did what she'd meant to do with those words. She turned her attention back to the road after a time, enjoying the night lights of the city part of Sacrosanct. But then the buildings gave way to trees and forested areas. She glanced over at Alexander, truly surprised. When he offered no explanation, she turned back to continue watching the trees go past. When they turned onto a smaller road, she glanced over at him again, one brow lifting. "You're not taking me out into the middle of nowhere to dump me like an old dog or something, right?" Her eyes glimmered jokingly at him. And then suddenly there was a lake ahead and she gasped at the beauty of it all. She leaned forward in her seat without thinking about it, mesmerizing all the chairs and tables and cars and the way the moon reflected off the lake. "Beautiful." She murmured to herself more than anything.

As Alexander parked the car, she turned to him with a more giddy expression, her lips tugging into a big smile. He asked if she was ready and she nodded. "Aways."
