East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

It had been a good night of running around and getting to know a new Were in town. Ashton was shy and sweet and totally not the usual type of guys she would find herself hanging around with but it wasn't like she had a type or anything. Frost was emotionless like a robot and yet he would get softer when he thought no one was watching and actually open up to someone and teach them good lessons like how to fight and how to be careful with men. She rolled her eyes at the memory. Then there was Tetradore, the alpha of the other pack. Tall dark, handsome, and broody as hell. He never let anyone in though every once in a while, she'd get a glimpse of a softer side. She felt like he'd been hurt before and it was making him keep his distance. Or he had a shady past that he was afraid would catch up to him or something and he didn't want to have any attachments. And finally there's Henry. The man who found her when she shifted for the first time. He took her in without any questions and taught her how to be a human without even knowing she didn't know how.

He became her best friend and even ended up showing her how to have sex. She was curious of how humans did it so she asked him to. Then he went through a dark time with his boyfriend and they ended up having sex again. She kept telling herself that time was for his comfort as much as her own pleasure, but she had to admit. It was fun every time. Sex was fun for her, but she wouldn't do it with just anyone. She wouldn't trust any man to use her body like that. So why couldn't she find a good trustworthy guy who could actually like her the way Henry liked Sterling? It was downright frustrating sometimes. Was she not pretty? Was she too annoying? Did she speak her mind too much? Oh well. She'd keep going out and having fun and meeting new people till something stuck cause she had to admit. She really wanted to have sex again and Henry was trying to work things out with Sterling so she was keeping her distance, for their sake.

So she'd gone to a club last night and met Ashton. He was very attractive but she was learning fast that they'd grown up very differently. He was shy and reserved and very polite, like manners were engrained into his very being. They danced and then he took her skating and though he refused to shift in front of her so they could run together in their Were forms, at least he went to the arcade with her so they could play games together. She was exhausted by the time the sun came up, but in a good way. She'd made a new friend and now it was time to start the day. She was starving! Her stomach grumbled and she wasn't sure she wanted to wait till she got home to scrounge up something in the pantry or the fridge. It wasn't like she knew how to cook it. So when she walked past the diner and smelled the food, she paused and looked inside. Her mouth was watering already. She went inside and sat at a booth, only to have a waitress come up and ask what she wanted to eat.

Hallelujah! She rattled off basic stuff like bacon (LOTS of bacon) and eggs basically raw and toast and sausage and a chicken fried steak (cause who puts cow and chicken together? She had to try that!) and the lady went off to make her food, looking a little perplexed. She told the lady to surprise her when it came to her drink, since she had no clue if they had fruity drinks that gave her a buzz here. The lady brought over some hot chocolate for her and she took a sip and about spit it out. It was so hot! But the sweetness hit her tongue and she licked her lips. But damn, it was good! She shifted impatiently in her seat as she waited for her food, eying the hot chocolate suspiciously, wanting to drink more but afraid it would burn her again. She nibbled on her bottom lip as she looked around, scanning the other people present. An older man two booths in front of her caught her eye. Something in his scent was....different. But she couldn't put her finger on it.

He didn't smell dead like she was told vampires smell like and he didn't give her heeby jeebies like a Hunter's scent and yet she knew he wasn't human. So what was he? She furrowed her brows, not even aware that she was staring.
