East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He seemed a little overwhelmed by everything that had happened to her, and all in one night, too. When he asked about her friends, she offered a shrug. "I never had many friends before finding out I was a Were, not unless you count coyotes." She smirked, wondering if he would catch on that she meant literal coyotes, not just animal names for her friends. "But my friends now are great. I have my pack and my friends in another pack and my human friends. I can't say they keep me out of trouble but they certainly help see me through it." Her smirk widened into a genuine smile as she thought about all the people that she knew had her back, like Frost and Nadya, or Henry and Tetradore. She was even sure Miyako would help her out in a bind if she could.

She tilted her head as he shook his, saying he was transparent, like what you see is what you get. She scowled, not so easily convinced. Leaning forward, she put her chin on her hands and narrowed her eyes a little, as if studying him. Finally she shook her head as she leaned back again. "No, I don't believe that. I think that's what YOU want to believe, that this is all you are. You're only holding yourself back, giving yourself a hard limit like that." In the end, they might just have to agree to disagree but she couldn't just believe that he was a guy who liked to have sex with random strangers and go about his life and that's all there was for him. She couldn't believe that someone would accept a life so....empty. It didn't seem fair. At least he agreed that you could catch diseases from what he was doing.

Then he said that you just have to be careful and admitted that he was disease free which made her smirk again as she held up a hand. "I'll take your word for it." Her eyes twinkled teasingly. When he continued to ask about her and Ashton, she wasn't uncomfortable about it though she had a feeling if it was Ashton sitting here instead of her, he most definitely would be. In fact, he wouldn't even be having this conversation with Boone. He was quick to point out that Ashton must be a virgin then, saying matter of factly. Malia's brows furrowed. "Maybe. Or maybe he got hurt and is afraid to be vulnerable again." She thought of Henry and his relationship with Sterling. Sure, Henry was nowhere near as shy as Ashton when it came to intimacy, but in certain aspects, he acted hesitant and she knew it was cause his heart was wounded.

She had a feeling Boone had plenty of his own opinions about guys like Ashton though, but that wouldn't change how she felt about him. Ashton was friendly and supportive and this was all in one night she spent with him. She couldn't wait to see him again. She smirked again when he agreed that it was less itchy and more comfortable without clothes on. She wasn't going to argue that point. She knew it far too well, though he'd probably disagree that fur was much better. As he finished his food, she almost felt disappointed. Now he didn't have much of a reason to stay and talk with her and she was surprised to find she was actually enjoying his company, as odd as it is. As he took a sip of his drink though, he asked her a question and she blinked a few times, swallowing before she answered. "Maybe. I don't know. I've only been around him one time but so far all I've seen is reasons to want to get to know him more. I mean, I'm not falling head over heels for him at this point or anything, but I'd definitely like to see him again."

There, she admitted it. She glanced almost shyly down at her own empty plate. She didn't even realize she'd finished her food. Must have been stuffing her face while she was talking. She reached for her drink, taking another sip.
