East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

RAVEN ::: fading into oblivion

kissing death and loosing my breath
It was perfect. That much the witch had keenly noticed the moment her grey tinged gaze fell upon the fragile silver piece of jewelry. It had been discarded so unceremoniously upon the corner of the sidewalk, the chain of the necklace already beginning to trickle down the gutter with the haze that had beset the city. Despite this, the gemstones set within that sterling silver piece still glistened, the blue hue of the gemstone set within the metal still managing to catch her eye. For a moment she had stood there on the side walk with the necklace in hand, her gaze drifting down the street as if she was searching for someone who appeared to be looking for the lost gem. Quite fortunately, however, it seemed as if the owner hadn't quite realized it's disappearance. Many of the Eastern side residents were too busy dashing to their destination to be out of the rain that would surely soon fall. It had been quite the lucky find for Serafina and so, without any further thought onto why she shouldn't take it, the young witch had simply stuffed the item into the pocket of her jacket and continued onward towards her store where she might better inspect it in the warmth of those dimly lit walls.

The moment that she was nestled upon the bench in the back room with a cup of tea in front of her, she'd dared to pull out the piece from her pocket, lying it neatly upon her desk only to click on the lamp beside her. Her fingers lightly brushed over the stones, admiring their beauty for all that they were. For a brief moment she almost felt bad for whom ever had lost it but the chain was still in tact...it certainly couldn't have just fallen off, couldn't it? A small frown crossed her lips as she considered it and yet, despite the thoughts that crossed her mind her fingertips embraced the fragile chain to pull the sparkling silver to her own neck. With deft fingers, the girl worked with the clasp to let it click securely in place around her neck, her fingers immediately finding the weight of it upon her collarbone. She took a moment to look at herself in the mirror, a small simper crossing her features as she eyed the way it fell upon her flesh. It was perfect. Unfortunately for Serafina, the girl hardly got the opportunity to stare at the view within the mirror long before a small bell from the front of the store rang, signaling her first customer for the day.

A soft sigh crossed her lips as she rose to a stand, making her way out of her work room towards the counter. "Good morning." She offered the peculiar looking man, doing her best to appear...friendly. For a moment she eyed him, watching him move between the shelves of her shop. He seemed so....thin...and small...so...ninjalike. The comparison was enough to make a small grin appear across her features, and with a small shake to her head the girl turned to get her shop ready for the day that was to come. She didn't notice the way his gaze kept shifting towards her. She didn't notice how he cautiously moved closer towards her. In fact, she didn't even notice his presence behind her until it was too late. A peculiar smelling cloth was shoved over her mouth and though she tried to scream the sound was stifled entirely as he wrapped his arm around her waist and in that moment, as she struggled to get up to speed with her situation, the girl couldn't help but to think that he was far stronger then he looked.
