East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Some fear fire, but I've become it.

Mira had learned far more than she bargained for with these detailed classes and activities that left the woman questioning just how much was actually useful and how much... was actually meant to terrify. She attended for Raven, her fellow wolf was in need of a healthy dose of moral support, after this experience, it was easy to see why. Although the thought of Tobias in a classroom setting would have surely been amusing in its own right, but perhaps at the expense of the entire class. She was certain the leopard would have loathed every minute in that cooped up room.

Mira was left baffled on several occasions, how did pregnancy get to be so..... complex? It was something that was supposed to be beautiful. She realized whoever had uttered those words had not witnessed that video. It was one thing to have the shower, to carry the baby to term, to prepare, to learn what you had to do, to make the baby. That last part everyone in that classroom was familiar with.... Well most of them anyways.. There was a woman there, that sat at the very back corner, content to brag that she didn't need a man. She overheard her talking about sperm banks or something. All the power to her but Mira was content to ignore her altogether.

It was a whole other thing watching the birthing process happen on screen, along with photos and extreme detail to cause the room to go deadly silent that one could hear a pin drop. Was it necessary? This particular lesson did nothing other than terrify the young parents to be, especially their masculine counterparts whose faces paled to a shade near vampiric. Mira could not help but watch one guy abruptly leave the room. By the end of the class, both women even seemed slightly concerned. Left alone with their own thoughts.

Did it hit Raven hard? That thought knowing in a few short months that Raven would be a mother. It was almost nicer to imagine the final result rather what birth did to your girl parts or all the gory details in between. She would much rather stick with the awkward breathing exercises and the games that were intended to make it "fun".

After class, both women seemed to be in a daze. Poor Raven, the woman looked traumatized. Mira leaned into her companion then with a mischievous grin upon her face, finally responding to the wolf's comment on teens. "There are not enough educational videos in the world that will stop hormonal teens from making dumb decisions." Mira shrugged loosely with a grin, the pair content to leave the room and the lowered voices of couples fervently speaking of what they saw. "So you traumatized enough yet?" The she-wolf questioned as a golden eye, caught sight of Raven who suggested going for a drink that she would unfortunately be unable to partake in..

"Hell, if anyone needs a drink, my friend, it's you and you can't even do that. I think they could have taught this in way less graphic detail.. Buuut, I will gladly suffer with you in solidarity. No alcohol for me." That easy laughter peeled from her parted lips. "I hope your wallet is ready for the damage we are about to inflict on it." It seemed like a nice contrast from all the gory details they just witnessed. Mira, content to already push it away from her mind even though she was positive it was already scarred. At the end of the day, Raven was bringing life into this world and it would alter her life forever. Forget the unpleasantness of giving birth, there was a much bigger picture to be seen here.

"I'm miraculously still hungry after seeing all of that. Let's grab a quick bite somewhere." Mira added, taking note of the look upon her companions face. It was clear she was thinking of something. "Craving anything in particular?" After all, Mira could find something anywhere, she was not the woman with a million and ten cravings altering at any given moment. Raven's hand settled upon her own belly, when suddenly the woman spoke that question. "You mean. you knew and you didn't tell me, I'm wounded Raven.." She stopped in her tracks, her words almost dramatic, shifting to face her pregnant companion. "Come onn, spill." She rose a brow, the full weight of her golden eyes landed upon Raven. Mira urged, she had to admit she was a little curious, and entirely certain their colour pallet for clothing surely depended on it.
