East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He liked to hold the baby. A part of him was distinctly...proud, in some fashion, to have his son within his arms even if Raven kept her own about the newborn for several moments longer before at last releasing her grip upon him to allow Tobias to hold him alone. The young man remembered, at least on some level, how to hold the child. That practice with the doll, to a certain extent, had surely paid off if only by creating that muscle memory of sorts within the lanky deviant. Tobias, assured of just how he had learned to hold the child, was reluctant to move from that position nor risk shifting the baby in any sense. This position was right. He would not move. Tobias was nothing if not strict in his beliefs in this. The young infants wriggling, however, prompted the young man to tighten his grip upon his son lest the boy wriggle away entirely. The strength in the baby, even a newborn, was...surprising. Tobias' fathomless dark gaze shifted from the baby to Raven and back again. His mind, somehow, began to shift through that near overload of information it had been presented with in those last few moments. Just exactly how this manner of childbirth worked would always remain something of a mystery to the deviant and yet his mind had so managed to formulate several new connections. Tobias was near oblivious, in that moment, to the photographs Raven took. His attention fixated with clear fascination upon his newborn son. It was Raven's voice that drew the young man's eyes away from the child then. Tobias still so hardly daring to move lest his arms, somehow, fall into the wrong position. Rhett. The babys name. Tobias understood names. All things had names. Names were important. Rhett was a good name, yes. His lips parted ever so slightly. Tobias was content to repeat that name over and over as if tasting it upon his tongue. Those harder sounds within the letters clearly satisfying him as he nodded. Rhett was a good name.

His insistence of just that readily coaxed a simper to Raven's own features. The young woman insisted that she was sure he would like it. That word nothing short of satisfying to him. Tobias' attention shifted back to Rhett once more before the young man, at last, allowed his attention to shift to the room at large. The couple had been left alone, for now, to bond with the child. The room was much quieter then it had been before. That lack of people only further soothing to the lanky leopard. The scent of that hospital had been all but drowned out by the scent of Rhett himself. That blend of Raven and himself- their....family. Tobias shifted ever so slightly, Rhett still held firmly within his arm and agianst himself as he freed one hand just enough to....poke near experimentally at Rhett's own tiny hand. The fingers of the infant were quick to unfurl, only to curl around tobias' own finger. That grasping reflex near instantaneous and yet that very action seemed to shock the deviant decidedly as his eyes widened. He lifted his finger gently, Rhett's grip upon it still firm.

"He is....holding me."

This, it seemed, was something of a curiosity to the younger man. A snicker of amusement at last seeming to rise from within Tobias' throat at that very reaction. The man was content to move his finger gently about as Rhett continued to hold it. This, somehow, a veritable source of fascination. Tobias, in the very least, remained nothing short of gentle as he did. Raven shifted then in turn, her hand reaching out to stroke their son's cheek. Tobias entirely content to allow that interaction. Raven, after all, was allowed to touch that baby he was certain. Those doctors and nurses however were entirely content to be eyed with suspicion even as they passed outside the room. Tobias liked this baby. It was his. He was certain. That business of naming, however, so hardly seemed to be over. Raven's voice once more filtered into the young man's thoughts as she suggested they name that child after Tetradore. Tobias' own head titled ever so slightly, his features formed a frown of clear consideration. He understood, somewhere within the depths of his mind, that Tetradore's name was Aiden. He had heard that name often as a child and yet his mind so often struggled with those complex connections all the same. Tetra was Tetra. Yes. Tetra was Aiden. Yes. Rhett was Rhett but Aiden. It took several long moments for the young mans mind to....process these very things. His dark gaze shifted to Raven once more.

"Cain is.....like.....my name and.....Aiden is like....Tetra's name and....Rhett is Rrrrr like Ravens name."

The fashion in which those names could be compared to things he so already knew and understood seemed to...satisfy him in some sense. Tobias seeking to make those connections of comparison, his gaze resting upon his wife as he waited for some insistence he was correct before his head nodded at last.

"Aiden Rhett Cain but....call him...Rhett. Can you....write it....for me?"

That request was near sudden. Tobias so never before having asked Raven to write any name but his own until he had mastered scribbling his moniker alone. Tobias one of the few words he was capable of writing even if he often got that b backwards. Just why he desired Raven to write down Rhett's name remained to be seen.

"Can we....take him...home now?"

That Raven was, perhaps, not in any condition to get out of bed, let alone walk to the car and drive those hours home remained to be seen. Tobias, it seemed, simply desiring to have Rhett home. Ideally right now.
