East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Raven Cain

Was it a bit invasive of Raven to ask another woman whether or not she thought about having a child? Yes. The young woman hoped Mira did not think she was snooping on whether or not she would be interested in having a kid with Tetradore. However, she was curious to see if other women hoped for such things. Did other women at a younger age dream about raising a family or marrying their school crush? Having a family of her own was not something she thought about or thought she could have. Why would she after what she went through? Even while she and Tobias dated, the thought of raising a family of their own didn't come to mind. The young she-wolf didn't even think about her wedding until Tobias let it slip he was interested in marrying her during their first argument. It wasn't until their first argument he let it slip he would want to marry her that Raven even began to think about a wedding. After their engagement, when his sane half mentioned the prospects of them having children, she quietly looked into the matter. Could Weres of different species have children together? Of course! Although she learned it would take time and a lot of patience. Luckily, she and her mate were expecting their little bundle of joy soon. Not wanting to make Mira uncomfortable, she quietly nodded and responded softly.

"I didn't think of having a child of my own either, but I'm happy it happened."

After explaining to Mira all her usual and very unusual cravings, she happily waddled beside the woman as the two made their way to a restaurant that would resolve at least one of her cravings. Sitting down at their table, she took a sip of her drink as Mira inquired whether or not she was afraid about what was to come. Was she afraid? Of course! Like any expecting Mother, she was excited and terrified. The last thing she wanted was to provide her son with a terrible and unhappy childhood. Raven wanted him to grow up with a loving and supportive family, provide him with all the opportunities she never received. Wasn't that the point of being a parent? Making sure that your child had a better start and life than you had? Not to mention, she was part of a pack now. Although she could depend on her family to assist her, she didn't want to annoy them and become a burden. Tetradore mentioned that she could rely on them for anything, and while that may be true, Raven was terrified that not everyone in the pack would be fine with helping out. Explaining to Mira her thoughts she quickly munched some of the nachos nervously, waiting patiently for her response.

Raven appreciated Mira's assurance that she wouldn't be alone in raising her child. In a way, it was reassuring, but she was still afraid, and why shouldn't she be? She was responsible for another human being, and the last thing she wanted to do was screw it all up. Change was not something she could stop, and why would she want to? If anything, change was a very good thing. If she hadn't gone through all of those changes, she wouldn't be sitting here pregnant in a booth with Mira. It was no surprise that her mate was protective, maybe a bit too overprotective, but Mira was correct that Tobias would ensure nothing bad would ever happen to her or their children. A small smile crept on her face at the mention of Mira being an exceptional Googler. Nodding quietly, she went back to munching on the nachos making sure she didn't hog all of it. Just because she was eating for two didn't mean she had to inhale everything. After they paid for their meal and got up to leave Raven murmured to Mira softly.

"Thank you, Mira, I know I can rely on everyone and you...I'm just...nervous is all. I promise I won't text or call you unless it's an emergency."

Waddling outside the restaurant she cracked a wiry grin when Mira mentioned she and Tetradore had been sockless for a long time. Tucking some of her golden-brown curls behind her ear she nodded in agreement at the idea of getting them some socks.

"I understand your pain. We went without socks and I didn't pack a whole lot of underwear. I enjoyed being without a bra though."

As they entered the baby store, Raven pulled her phone from her pocket. Selecting the photo album, she browsed through until she found the photos she wanted to show off. Handing her phone over to Mira, she would let the woman see the nursery room for their son. Raven selected the woodland theme for their son, finding it to be an excellent choice. It took a bit of convincing, but she managed to get Dorian to come out and paint on the walls, providing a beautiful landscape of trees and mountains. The crib, dresser, and baby station were all put together. There were some wooded woodland creatures she used to help decorate the room. Raven was rather proud of her choices, even Tobias approved, she hoped Mira would approve as well. Grabbing one of the shopping carts, she made her way over towards the baby clothes, and boy was there a lot of baby clothes to look over.

"They say we're supposed to get a little bit of clothes for a newborn, but to focus on getting more clothes when they get older and grow since they can grow so quickly."

If Raven found a design she liked, she would hold it up to let Mira see it. If Mira approved with a nod or a verbal yes, Raven would place it gently in the shopping cart. However, if the clothing was not approved then she'd put it back on the rack. As they browsed, giggled, and chatted, they would be interrupted by other shoppers coming over to inquire about her pregnancy. Answering their questions and making polite small chat was easy to do. The only thing she didn't like was if the nosey shoppers reached out to touch her protruding stomach. Sometimes, she would place the shopping cart between them to keep them from approaching any closer. If Mira was close by, she would take a step back to allow Mira's presence to block them. If neither of these steps worked, she would place her hands protectively over her stomach, so if they did try to touch her, they would touch her hands. All and all, Raven was enjoying this time with Mira. After placing a dark blue onesie in the cart, she looked over at Mira with a small smile.

"Mira, what was your family like? Was there anything you liked about your parents?"

i'm ashamed of the world for not understanding.
