East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Walk me home in the dead of night
I can't be alone with all that's on my mind

There is something in the sudden and unexpected nature of the whole encounter that feels a touch surreal, as if this were all a dream and she might suddenly awaken. Yet the feeling of her finger pressing so firmly against the solid planes of his chest, muscle she could feel despite the fabric of his shirt, was undeniable and somehow it made her bold in a way she had not been for so long. The witty exchanges, the arch of his brow as he took in the measure of her current placement was thrilling. His hand so easily coming underneath her own and lifting it with practiced ease to press the gentlest and what should have been innocuous kisses to its back. For a moment this alone broke her practiced air of casual eve, surprise flickering across her features, his gesture one that was rare even in the chivalrous Southern world she had come from. That action alone dated him slightly and caused her to wonder who exactly she might be dealing with, ever the curious kitten.

However, his response to her playful accusation that in fact he was somehow responsible for their collision was entirely unexpected. Her bewilderment at his offer showing for a moment as she absorbed it fully until it was washed away at his humor and terrible impression of an American accent, she much preferred his British one. She studied him as she mused, that southern tone dripping into her voice as she replied. Those drawled words giving he time to consider his offer, wondering briefly if she should accept. This man was a stranger in every sense of the word and she still bore the scars to remind her of the last stranger she had wandered off with not that she needed them to remember. Yet things had finally been returning to normal, for once she was feeling herself again and perhaps it was sheer desperation that made her want to cling to it. It helped that her newly formed bond with a certain Italian Prince was giving her more confidence than she had felt in ages and with that in mind that she made her decision.

That moment of indecision was wiped from her face as her playful smile once more curved her lips, one that the English gentleman seemed to so enjoy bringing out of her. Her reply and following introduction made his eyes crinkle around the edges as he grinned down at her in a way that accentuated their navy depths as she swiped the soft waves of her hair behind her ear. The way her name flowed off his lips, as if he hung on to every note, made something curl in her stomach despite the way he put distance between them even as he introduced himself as well. "William." She tested his name on her lips twisted with a touch of southern twang, her eyes trailing down as his hand rose up towards her once more. This time a silent offer, one she was much more familiar with than the last, and after a only a breath she placed her warm palm within his own.

She fell into step beside him easily, the sorry state of both their clothes an afterthought as they moved through the mostly deserted mall. At his comment regarding where exactly they might head to shop for new attire she scanned the options while a soft huffing laugh left her lips. "Oh, but it's so easy to imagine you in leather and a nice hat darlin'." She accentuated the last word, drawling it out with exaggerated ease as she shot him a sidelong smile. "Oh this looks promising! She exclaimed suddenly, gripping his hand tighter while she veered into the department store that was sure to have any variety of options within hauling William after her.
