East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I'm searching for something that I can't reach

Sad eyes, mouth full of white lies

"I can't believe I'm doing this..."

Blake groaned at his reflection, hand pushing his damp hair to stand up higher on his head. His towel was on the floor around his ankles, edges of his mirror still fogged from his shower. He let out a dramatic groan/growl/whine, both hands rapidly messing his hair even more, before stopping to look at his masterpiece.

"Perfect! Ready to go out!"

He declared boldly, chest puffed out, before he started laughing at the ridiculousness of that idea. Yeah, he'd look like a crazy person if he showed up like this, especially being stark naked. Shaking his head, Blake began his bathroom routine to prep for the upcoming event of the night - A Blind Date! Apparently some friend knew another friend that knew someone that would be perfect for him or something like that. Or maybe it was her friend knew a friend of a friend that knew him and they thought... Whatever. Someone knew a person who knew a girl and thought they'd be good together. Hey look, he's said it like three times now in case it wasn't clear the first or second time. He smattered some product in his hair, combing it quickly before calling it done. He probably could afford to shave buuuut... he was kind of thinking about growing some facial hair. Maybe a beard. Blake felt he could look rather dashing with a beard. Or maybe like a weird stalker. Hm. Either way, he didn't want to shave so he wasn't going to do so.

Once Blake left the bathroom, it was a quick matter to get dressed once he finished bouncing back and forth for a while about brown or black (brown won). Then it was a matter of not forgetting his phone when he left the house but otherwise, Blake was ready for the evening. When he arrived at the restaurant - surprise, surprise, it wasn't a bar! - Blake realized that for once in his life he was early to something. Needless to say, he felt an immense and overwhelming sense of regret that he had arrived early because this meant he had nothing to do but let his imagination run wild about this girl he was supposed to have a date with. He didn't know her, her interests, her personality, or even really how she looked. The description he had from a friend was "Short, cute, asian." That wasn't a description! That was like, a blurb of singular words! He didn't even know what kind of Asian she was!

Hopping out of his car, he decided to push his thoughts away by hovering near the entrance of the restaurant, flipping through his text messages. He thought to maybe send her a text to perhaps cancel or get an ETA but he was finding a bit of a problem with that. Blake had never really gotten around to entering everyone's numbers in his phone so, even though he would talk to people all the time, he had all these... numbers texting him. Numbers with no names. Was this one hers? No, that was Luke. What about this one? No, that wasn't... Was that Claire's number? Did Claire even have a phone? Maybe he should have picked something other than dinner for the first date.

Maybe he should have done coffee or tea or.. a zoo? Did people even do that, go to zoos for dates? Oh god, why was he so bad at dating? Meeting people, done. Dating? It was like he took a lesson in stupid and fell in with idiot.
