Malek Ackerman

You're my water. You're my wine.

It was the wildish grin that so adorned his features as Arlo finally notes that Malek had simply been toying with him. How easy it was to play with such a young vampire! Still, the ancient decides not to take it any farther and instead trails down the alleyway with the boy in tow. Honestly, he was surprised the man had decided to follow him; though Malek knew himself to be an easy going, one of a kind vampire, their race tended to be tricksters and deceivers â€" even if they were in a coven together. Yet, the man had seen far too much death, most by his hands, and he had no desire to continue an endless blood feud.

Shoving his hands into his coat pocket, he strolls casually down the alleyway and rolls his eyes to Arlo as he questions him. Giving a nonchalant shrug, he doesn't hesitate as he replies with those British lyrics, "Not since I've been here. However, there is a man that I knew centuries ago that I have heard has settled here In Sacrosanct. He's even older than I am. Believe it not, he's Alexander the Great," Malek eyes Arlo pointedly but doesn't explain any further. The vampire doubted the boy would even believe him.

As they near the park, Malek grins at the scents that waft into his nostrils. How he loved that smell! And when they finally stop just on the edge, the vampire simply looks at Arlo and ask him to perform his affinity once again. He notes the way his lips grin in response; how very... touchy he was about his magic, Mal truly didn't believe it was a parlor trick but he was thankful the vampire was relaxing in his presence. It truly was a unique power â€" one Malek had never seen before. How he longed to learn more about it and see it in action, while he would rather not be the victim of it.

Curiously, he watches the sudden shift of Arlo's body as he searches the area; his body almost tense as he scans each and every bush, listening to the pitter patter of paw steps in the foliage. How very intimidating a vampire was when they decided to hunt. When finally, there's movement beneath those bushes, he subtly shifts his eyes to watch Arlo call forth that magic; it dancing on his fingertips before it fires towards the rabbit on the other side of the field. Letting out a low whistle of appreciation, he removes his hands from his pockets and simply watches that web entangle the screeching rabbit. It was uncomfortable, to say the least, when that web so wrapped around his legs, he couldn't imagine what it felt like on that rabbit.

Standing casually, he watches Arlo retrieve the struggling bunny and bring it back to him, a truly confused look dancing on his features as he simply asks what to do with it. Releasing a chuckle, he gestures towards the small animal, "Eat it of course, mind the hair though or you'll be coughing up fur balls for the rest of the week. Kill it if you want, I don't typically kill my prey though," he says with a small shrug, "It's fretfully hard to hide animal bodies," he grins before snatching the struggling rabbit from Arlo and giving it a half glance before the bunny simply dies in his hands. Sighing, he shrugs and hands it back to Arlo, "Unfortunately, the smaller the creature the easier they die. We must have given it quite a shock," he mopes before sliding his hands back into his pockets.

"I prefer my bunnies fresh, there's a certain richness to their blood," he muses, a grin dancing on his lips. Shaking his head, he returns his attention back to Arlo, "Well, go on. Give it a try. Let's see if you can keep it down," Malek had a distinct feeling he wouldn't as answers already begin to form in his mind. It had been of an age since he had met one of Arlo's kind, yet he wanted substantial proof before he offered the boy any real explanation. There was always a chance he could survive off animals. However unlikely it seemed.

You're my whiskey. From time to time.
