The Sun Also Rises

It was a pleasant thing, to see his company relax I the fashion Dareios did then, the vampire easing well back in his chair, Dorian's own posture all the more inclined to contentment in the moments that followed. After all, the Monarch so often strove to have those he intended on spending time with comfortable enough in his company to actually speak to him and so allow those airs and graces to fall and afford him with real conversation. This, perhaps, was but one of those reasons he hardly afforded Dareios any true knowledge of his position in life. The Fae merely enjoying this manner n which he might simply exist in the company of another without it turning into some grand affair that would have the media and the papers swarming about them. Dorian, if anything, was content to merely bask in Dareios' own celebrity within this town, the man thoroughly enjoying having that attention upon the vampire rather than himself. That sudden query as to his own work unexpected, Dorian so hurriedly working to return his features to that look of simple nonchalance and yet really he had no intention of overtly lying to his new companion in any sense.

"Yes, I-"

The Fae paused if only to consider how best to place his words. His silver-hued gaze frowning slightly in contemplation and yet to allow that pause to continue for any longer would be a decidedly poor show of manner- at least by his own standards, that small smile tugging at his lips as he moved to speak. Halted this time only by Dareios' assertion that his skills might yet be utilised at city hall in regards to those community issues- surprise lingering upon his features now. How pleasing that might be to see just how this local sort of government worked. Dorian, after all, was forever intrigued by the manner in which things worked, the man ever curious to the point Sebastian was assured he was relentless. The Fae continually content to inform his lover of anything and everything he had read about that day, Sebastian so entirely patient in the hours he spent listening. His head nodding softly a moment later.

"I think I should enjoy that. Feel free to call on me any time you should need assistance. I have someone attending my office at all hours."

He added as almost an afterthought, after all Italy, so to speak, hardly had business hours. His offices eternally manned both here and within his own country, the Monarch assured time could be made to offer his assistance to these community issues. He did so like this city after all, assisting in its running would hardly displease him. Dorian moving then to respond to that earlier query.

"I suppose it depends exactly what you should like to know. I work in government within Italy and am charged with its daily running. I am its King."

Dareios, he was sure, would have discovered that shortly all the same. Dorian assured he need only pick up a magazine or turn on a television to see his image splashed across its pages, the Fae seeing little need to conceal it further as those meals arrived. That soup placed before him now, the scent entirely pleasant as he moved to neatly take up that spoon, content to regale Dareios with that tale off his appliances mishaps as if he had not just merely informed the man he was ruler of an entire country. That soft chuckle he was rewarded with stirring a simper back to his own lips before he gestured lightly to Darieos' own meal in some assurance he was welcome to begin if he desired too before lifting that first mouthful to his own lips in satisfaction.

"Sebastian has been very helpful. He showed me how to use mobile phones and ipods, I even went in a plane for the first time when I went back to Italy. Do you know what is truly fascinating? Elevators. Do you not find them exciting? Although I suppose perhaps you don't after all this time, forgive me, I find technology as a whole rather thrilling."
