Amelia stood on the sidewalk in front of the small maternity boutique, wanting so desperately to not be anywhere near it in this moment. She was still worried about this strange vampire she had just bumped into. It unsettled her to be so close to someone of her own species when she was carrying a child that should have never been there in the first place. She tried, however, to be polite to him as best she could, keeping the fear hidden beneath her soft eyes. She would not show weakness. Her baby's life depended on it.

Amelia thanked him for his help in helping her to her feet and he was polite in his response. Overall, he seemed like a genuine man...but something just didn't settle right. She couldn't put her finger on just why she was so uneasy, but she could not deny the feeling. She had survived this long on her intuition, so sure it wasn't that far off from the truth.

Amelia was just about to take her leave when he asked her a question. Why he apologized for prying, she wasn't sure why he wanted to know if she knew Troy. Was Troy hurt? Was he using Troy to get to her? To get to her baby? She was cautious how she answered, trying not to let on that Troy was something she cared very deeply for. However, she could not help the way her voice softened when she spoke about him, claiming familiarity. "Yes, I know him. Has something happened?" Amelia knew his job was quite dangerous and she hoped and prayed that this vampire had not been sent out to tell her that Troy had gotten himself injured or worse...killed. She would be unable to live with herself if anything happened to him.

But there was still the question of exactly who this man was. Before she got too detailed in her relationship with Troy, she needed to know who she was talking to. "Pardon me for asking...but who are you exactly?" If it was a buddy of Troy's, she'd feel much better about sharing a little more about her relationship with Troy. But as of now, this was a strange man and she had to think about what would be best for her and her baby.
