Perhaps she was surprised that he said next time, wondering if there would truly be a next time or if that was a thing people said with no real intentions of it being true. She gave a quick nod of her head in silent contemplation her thoughts not really holding that much meaning as the conversation shifts.

He snorted at her words as if amused by them. She tipped her head as if she dared him to try something. In all honesty, she was not one to tire so easily, she would go all night if she had to. It wouldn't take much to start this new challenge if he provoked it, an open invitation rested unspoken between them. The expression upon her porcelain face welcomes it did but she did not antagonize it. Not this time. He was a worthy opponent but she was confident in her own stamina with her honed powers, could he truly keep up with her? With all her years of practice, he was but a child in comparison to her. Yet he seems like something more, he was crafty, reckless but also quick on his toes.

The man was surely in tune, it surprised her that he noticed that her name seem to date her in some way. "Yes, I would say so, people name their children the most ridiculous things. My parents gave me the name when I was born. I didn't cry and my eyes, when they peered into them were like stone. The child with cold gemstone eyes. So believe it or not the name Petra means stone." How odd it felt rummaging through the past! Its been so long since she thought of such things or her parents. It was more than a life time ago.

It felt so strange reminiscing of a past long gone, like ancient dust and yet it was a part of her no matter how distant it felt. She felt like two distinct entities in one. But the name Arlo was a good name, she liked it. It sounded unique but not peculiar like some of the names she had heard.

Their hands still entwined and yet she seems hardly aware of the lingering of it. It didn't exactly feel wrong either, perhaps even comfortable for now. "Money? Well, that is easy to find, it is even easier for a vampire to acquire with the right gifts." How often her illusions were the perfect con, she could create all the money she desired and they would know no difference until they came up short with the funds later. By then it was far too late and no one could ever possibly trace it back to her. She was like a ghost herself. There one moment and gone the next. How could you prove something as convincing as her illusions? Money, so many bled for it and some lost everything over it. All it was printed ink on paper. "I will never understand the obsession with money, but I never worried about such things. Maybe in life but now.." Just like that she created money, a thick assorted stack of different bills. She tosses it idly in the air as it falls haphazardly to the ground allowing it to lay there before melting into the earth. Then again she wasn't much of a gambler, for money that is. But in life, with her decisions and illusions, she gambled all the time. House always won, much like her. She always found a way, whether by sleight of hand, or teeth, or even her bare hands. "I could tell you liked to gamble, after all you took your chances on me. I have to admit that most are not so lucky." She admits honestly, her words spoken in that ominous nightingale tune.

"I can't say I am popular either." That was the truest statement she had ever spoken, she was no good at making friends. The potential people she had met that could have been she had used her illusions on, as though she didn't know of any other way to be. Not to mention, her demeanour was far from normal, there was something strange and distant about her. Like a reflection in rippled water, she is oddly distorted. Even in life, she found it difficult to make friends, she was always traded away like a collector card. Especially after her parent's death, she was no longer someone's joy but someone's asset to be traded to the highest bidder. In her time, marriage was a business arrangement and her uncle was more than content to cash in on her looks. The only two people in the world that cherished her died and so she became whatever she could be sold for. She didn't know what her uncle made off of her, she didn't see him much afterwards, only sniffing around when he wanted something.

Creating a vampire that consumed other vampires was a way for nature to get even at the undeserving power in which they were gifted. Being the top of the food chain eventually had to come at a cost. Honestly, it was a wonder how he could control himself at all or how he didn't just drain every bloodsucker he found. After all, they deserved it didn't they? How many humans died just to serve as a meal? How many did she kill alone? The number so high that she simply lost count. In truth, she never thought much about it until lately, when that humanity leached away her lack of caring. She hadn't killed since it happened and it felt strange letting them live and not taking everything for herself, to absolve them from a world of disappointment.

His next words made a strange sheepish grin form upon her reddened lips as if assessing him in a feminine way, she rarely ever did. His masculine chuckle escaped him. She took in his features and noticed how strong he was built and how he most likely possessed chiselled muscles beneath his shirt. His face was easy on the eyes as well and for a startling second, she noticed him beyond the game she was playing. It was.. unfamiliar to her. She suddenly realised how aware she was of that hand that ensnared hers. "Well thank you, I do happen to have remarkable taste." She averted her eyes for a moment to gain back that control that just slightly slipped. He was truly a confident man but in this, he spoke the truth. With a final squeeze, he released her hand.

At the end of the day, did it really matter if he were a figment of her own mind?

It was time to pay up her end of the bargain. He tried to walk her through what was going to happen, clearly, he didn't know her resolve yet. Composure she needed in order to keep in control of her illusions She was confident she would handle the effects of his venom with composure. He suddenly vanished from her eyesight and abruptly appeared directly behind her, it was startling and far more seamless than when they crash landed into the sod earlier. She was positive she still had grass where it didn't belong, probably within the thick dark length of her dark raven hair. She could feel his presence behind her, sending that prickling sensation at the back of her neck of danger, she idly tucks her hair to one side. A mere whisper leaves him as he spoke into her ear and should she possessed a heart that still beat it might have increased its pace. She suddenly felt so very aware of him. "I do no fear a little bit of pain." That knowing nightingale voice uttered softly, almost too softly that could have gotten lost on the gentle breeze.

He seems to take his time, suddenly not so frantic with the hunger that possessed him before. It felt intimate the way his lips pressed against her neck and his hand rests on her hip, his body pressing against hers. His teeth met her neck poised and ready as though tasting that vein just beneath the surface, it felt like a very vulnerable position to allow another predator at your throat in trust he wasn't going to merely rip it out. Then so very abruptly those fangs embedded themselves within her flesh, it made her inhale as if gasping. The sharp pain sizzled through her flesh. Then there was an explosion of sensations that washed over her as if a bomb of pleasure exploded from her neck and throughout her body. Any thoughts were forgotten. For a time she forgot where she was, why she was here in the first place. It was like a shockwave pulsing through her, leaving her dopey and serene. It was like she wasn't entirely unaware of anything besides the sensations. Her eyes flutter shut and her body forgot how to stand growing limp as she sagged against him. She hums from the sensation of it, unlike anything she had ever felt. It was like she had once seen the world in monochrome but now she saw in technicolour.

Her body shudders involuntarily as she sighs in perfect bliss. She could feel that sound of pleasure that hummed from the man that gave her such a perfect high but was entirely unaware of where it was coming from. It didn't matter, nothing mattered, just this. It was all suddenly so very simple. How she didn't want this state of euphoria to end. It felt like she was sprawled out on satin, drunk on the chemicals that entered her body. Or maybe she wasn't in her body at all? This thought should have alarmed her, but she didn't mind. She wanted to bathe herself in this sensation, run her body along it. "Arlo.." She word uttered almost breathlessly and she didn't even know why she said it, but it felt right, it felt like perfection.
