Arlo James

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

He'd seen her around this part of town before right? Didn't that mean she had to come back? Well. It had seemed like good logic at the time. Then again, the 'time' had been more than a week ago now and he hadn't seen the pretty little blonde girl at all. Not even once. Not any of the nights he'd lingered around those Northside streets searching for the girl he owed that eight dollars too. It was ridiculous, he supposed, to try and hunt someone down over eight dollars and yet she was very near the last on his list to pay back. As insignificant as that amount seemed and probably was. Maybe he should just forget it really.....yet he was so close! Another sigh echoed from within him then, one hand lifting up to run through that near black hair, the man pushing that hood back as he did. A woman hurriedly clutching her purse to her chest and hugging closer to that store window as if the mere fact he was a vampire was so terror inducing she needed to protect her weird, ugly, odd shaped girly bag he had no desire to steal. It was probably expensive. Things that looked that bad always were. Then again, shouldn't she really have been trying to hide her neck from him? Wasn't that what they were all secretly terrified off? That he was going to drain them dry?

"I don't eat upper class housewives, it's cool."

He hadn't quite meant to say it exactly that loud, the woman turning to glare at him at his own eyes rolled slightly. His hands stuffed back into his pockets with a grumble. He'd have to remember not to look for a house on this side of town. This side didn't like him, apparently. Arlo feeling distinctly out of place as he stared almost reluctantly at his worn, tired out old sneakers and jeans with the hole in the knee. He should get some new clothes too. Still, he'd been determined not to buy anything, nothing at all, not until he'd paid off all those debts. Buying things when he still owed money tended to be one of his faults after all. Arlo determined, this time, to try and not fall back into those more disastrous money habits and blow that inheritance completely. His foot scuffed against the pavement then, the vampire pausing to glance at his phone. It was nearly nine o'clock. Either the girl didn't come this way anymore, she was home in bed or she didn't even live around here and that one night had been kinda a fluke. Maybe women weren't as predictable as he believed them to be. There was every chance of that.

Arlo lent easily away from that lamp post then, his hands resting in his pockets as he headed down that street and back the way he had come, the vampire shifting in between that late night shopping crowd as he moved. He had nearly managed to make it out of the North entirely when that blue gaze managed to catch that movement to his left, that little blonde head bobbing through that crowd to the side before hurrying across that road. Was that her?! Could that be her?!

"Hey! Calliel!"

That was her name right? He was sure. Arlo focused on that girl alone as he stepped off from the curb. The young man entirely oblivious to that taxi as it rounded the corner, his gaze turning hurriedly towards it and yet even those vampiric reflexes were entirely to slow tonight. That car colliding solidly with him, knocking the vampire entirely from his feet and onto his back on the road in front of that halted taxi, that front of the car almost completely smashed in from that collision. This- was not his night.
