death incarnate & night triumphant

The man clearly wasn't afraid to ply Andras with questions. It didn't bother him, not really. He would rather be questioned constantly rather than someone taking his word all the time. Still, he was briefly surprised that Troy didn't immediately shy away from his blunt statement and instead, continued to question his beliefs. A faint smile so adorns his features as he toys with the glass in his hand lazily as he leans back in his chair. "Of course, not. Nor is it tolerated within my court," he states frankly offering the man an honest answer while Troy responds instantly. There's a flash of pain that darts quickly through his eyes before he carefully covers it by raising his glass to his lips and taking another sip of the rich liquid, quite enjoying the way it courses down his throat. "Oh, it works I can assure you. I have my suspicions that the destruction of my court was from within, not an outside attack. There were very few who thought to challenge us and the fools who did... well, it didn't end so well for them," he states casually.

His words hold no hint of arrogance, merely that of brutal honesty. It was truth that so left his lips and he hoped Troy would see it as such. As their conversation continues, Andras provides the man with a vague mention of protection around his court and he had hoped that the man would leave it be, yet here he was, questioning him again. There's a moments hesitation before Andras gives a dip of his head, conforming the mans suspicions. "Correct," he says though he doesn't deign to answer further. It was the one topic he wouldn't divulge in until the man joined him, he couldn't afford to have the information fall into the wrong hands. For the moment, their conversation shifts and Troy seems to relax, albeit slightly, around the Lord while Andras offers him another faint smile. Waiting patiently, his ears perk up at the mention of a special circumstance, though he doesn't comment. He didn't particularly want to rush the man, whatever he was attempting to convey seemed to make the man hesitate.

Brows arched in curiosity, he brings his drink to his lips once more and downs the rest of it. Realizing that Troy seemed to be feeling rather... uncomfortable, Andras leans forward when the fellow man does, those dark hazel eyes narrowing in concern as Troy finally announce just what that circumstance was. Brows flick up in astonishment as he sets the glass gently back on the counter. For the moment, Andras is entirely speechless. It had been centuries since the Fae had been caught so entirely off guard. It wasn't possible, yet here Troy was telling him he had impregnated a vampire. Taking several breaths to compose himself, those dark eyes turn on the faerie beside him, "That, I was unaware of," he starts bringing a hand up to run through his brown locks, "How is that even possible?" He asks, his voice tinged with a bit of wonder. "Because of your unusual circumstance, do you know if your child is Fae or vampire?" He questions that calculating mind of his turning quickly, listing the pros and cons within his head.

A faerie child would be a doted on within his court; offspring were not easily produced within the Fae race and he couldn't imagine a higher honor to be apart of the growth of a child. Pausing to allow Troy to answer his questions, he tilts his head and releases a sigh, "I can provide you and your family the protection that you need, however, there will be terms. If your child proves to take take after the mother we will need to be cautious. I've never encountered a vampiric child myself but I have heard such tales of destruction by them that they make me wary," he offers Troy a small incline of his head before continuing, "Whatever your child may be I will still offer you my protection," he's firm in his decision, he would not abandon someone in need even though the outcome might be cloudy.
