North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city, the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high-class architecture. The pristine streets are paved with stone and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting - for the right clientele. In the North, every establishment is eager to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allows them the luxuries that the North provides.

Kathryn Quinn Murphy
I bet on me and my own heartbeat

Was she an idiot for moving here? All by herself? Maybe she should have just followed one of her friends wherever they had decided to move. Sure, she still wouldn't be living with her grandparents, she would be out on her own, but at least she would know someone. They could have been roommate and Kathryn would have had a friendly face to come home to every day. Instead of boxes which she had now. And she wouldn't have turned up to a bar all alone, she would be like those girls at the table all together laughing with one another.

But life is a bitch, isn't it?

Her while entire body is sending up red flags about this guy who wants to put his arm around her. Everything inside of her is saying to get away as fast as she can and as far as she can. Her silver blood seems to freeze inside her and fear catches ahold of her, threatening to squeeze the very breath from her lungs. As the door swings open, she almost wished it was a hurricane outside and that this douchebag of a guy would get sucked right out the door, instead of standing here with her. The thought crosses her mind of fighting him, but Kat was a peaceful as a monk. She didn't even kill mosquitos when they landed on her. How could anyone actually expect her to push this guy away, let alone actually hit and fight him. it just wasn't in the witch's nature.

As Kat grabs Taylor's arm, she heaves a sigh of relief. Well, at least she could count on there being one decent guy inside the bar. There always was, the difficult thing was finding them, but in this case, he came to her...or she met him halfway...or something. He smiles and his eyes light up with kindness, causing her own eyes of blue to brighten the glittering early morning frost with the first rays of sunlight. As the stupid head (ok, so Kathryn is bad at both fighting and insults.) walks away muttering to himself in defeat, trying to play it cool, Kathryn resists the urge to stick her tongue out at him like a five-year-old, preferring instead to maintain her composure like she was not even phased.

He smiles once more in response to her thank you and she follows his lead, claiming a spot in the seat beside him at the bar, hoping he wouldn't mind her continuing to tag along, not wanting that bonehead douche to get any ideas if she suddenly strayed off on her own again. Besides, it wasn't like she knew anyone here anyway. He asks if she wants a drink and she gives a casual shrug. "Sure, why not?" She says, though inside, Kathryn is grateful for the invite to join him. "Pleasure is mine Taylor. I am Kathryn, but you can call me Kat if you'd like," she says with a small smile. As to his question, Kathryn thinks about it for a moment, realizing she really didn't have a reason for being in here. Once more she shrugs, though this time with less casualness then she had earlier. Admitting you have no friends, even if you are new, is always a humbling thing. "I'm new to town and this place seemed cool, didn't know it was occupied by assholes," she says, but then her eyes widen as she clamps her hand over her mouth. Jeez she just met the guy and she already swore. "Sorry, potty mouth," she says, attempting not to blush. She is offered an out from having to discuss her 'potty language' as her grandparents would say as the bartender aproaches and her rescuer for the evening orders himself a drink. " A bourbon: neat," she says. She side-eyes Taylor for a moment, "I know, old man's drink, but I cant help myself," she says with a tiny laugh once more. As the bartender brings over her drink, Kathryn passes her credit card to him quickly. "Put it on my tab and keep it open" she says before turning to Taylor once more. "It's the least I can do."
