Sebastian Ellingtonget close enough to have fun
but not enough to get attached

The presence of that simple dagger was so entirely significant for the vampire, the crest that was emblazed in it belonged but to one soul - it was a singular object that he was altogether certain couldn't come from anyone else. Unless a grave robber had plucked their corpses clean of their valuables and the dagger in turn had passed from hand to hand till arriving here. It was, unlikely, given the face of the man that so stared at him and yet, the vampire found himself still reaching down towards that dagger. He was nearly mystified of it's presence, entirely inattentive to that all too familiar voice that called his name. His fingertips reached out towards that hilt, as if to confirm it was real only for William voice to pierce through that haze the moment his long, slender fingers touched that stinging silver. His hand withdrew immediately, his lips pressed into a small line as his eyebrows furrowed. The realness of that knife suggested but one thing and slowly, his crystalline blue eyes looked up at the Dark Hunter himself. There was but one way he could truly confirm it - that which he thought entirely improbable and immediately Sebastian drew on the first memory of William that so crossed his mind.

Sebastian's bright blue irises remained entirely steadfast upon the man across from him. His head tilted ever so slightly to the side as he listened to that soft chuckle that left his companion's lips and yet, the vampire hardly reacted to it's presence. At least, not yet. He still had to be sure that this was not yet still some facet of a rather elaborate trick. Instead, Sebastian listened with care as William drew from that very same memory. The Englishman hardly reacted at William's first words that he had indeed managed to catch the falling Marchioness before Sebastian himself had a chance to do so. It was the words that came next, however that so identified William as his own - the man in the flesh and blood and softly a small simper pulled at Sebastian's lips. He remembered well that look upon Lady Catherine's face those dreadful moments in which she realized her own mistake. It was one of those sweet moments before all of this death had invaded his life. "I still don't regret asking you to dance with me." The vampire responded in turn, a small simper tugging at the corner of his lips as he looked up at the Hunter. Though this should have been an utterly joyous moment for the man, having William back after nearly two hundred years of assuredness that he was dead, there was something that made the usually lackadaisical man falter.

He couldn't help that invading sense of guilt. He had been so certain that William had been death. He had been sure that William had held every ounce of blood removed from his body - and he had been wrong. He had left William there to die. He'd left him to be turned and that was something that perhaps he'd never be able to forgive himself of. It was that which weighed so heavily upon his mind as the vampire slowly rose to stand in front of his companion, his bright blue eyes still taking in the sight of his once best friend. He was almost unsure of what to do, now that he was utterly certain that it was his Wiliam. After all, he'd never thought that he'd see him again. Hell - he'd mourned the loss of the man for years and now, here he was standing in front of him, back from the dead. What words did he have to say to span the time of all that had existed between here and now? Sebastian's hands slowly found his pockets, nestled within that jeaned material. "I can't believe it's really you." It was the first words that fell from his lips as the vampire's bright blue gaze stared entirely entranced at the man across from him.

"What are you doing here? How long are you staying? Where are you staying?" The questions fell rapidly from his lips, his own mind pouring full of questions. Would he see William again or was this a one time moment? Could William even stand his presence? Would he be okay with his touch? Could he hug him? Did he want to risk it? No, no he shouldn't. Not yet, not until he knew William was okay with this, with what he was, with who he was now. "I want to see you again...or at least stay in contact if your leaving.....could we?" There was an undeniable hint of pleading in his accented lyrics as he watched William across from him, waiting for what the Duke would so decide his fate was - now that they were on opposite sides of the playing field.
